Omega-3 is indicated for allergic and inflammatory dermatological conditions in dogs. Omega-3 essential fatty acids are proven anti-inflammatory agents. EPA and DHA are not manufactured within the body, and must be available in the diet. Omega-3 adjusts the ratio of fatty acids in the diet to alleviate inflammatory respones. Omega-3 supplmentation also ensures a shiny, healthy coat.
Available in pump packs of 200mL and bottles of 1L.
Give 1mL per 7kg bodyweight daily by mouth (or on food).
1 press pump plunger = 1gm. Give 1gm/7kg bodyweight daily initially. 7gm (7 pumps)/day is sufficient for very large dogs. Continue this dose rate for 2 weeks, or until initial irritation is obviously under control. Give less often after initial treatment, depending on the individual dog. Most dogs will remain nornal if administration is reduced to every second day after the first two weeks.
Concurrent treatment to reduce the source of the allergy is important.
