Tapeworms:
Dipylidium caninum (common flea tapeworm)
Taenia taeniaeformis
Taenia ovis
Taenia hydatigena
Spirometra erinacei (zipper worm)
Echinococcus granulosus (hydatid Tapeworm)
Active Constituents
Praziquantel 50 mg/tablet.
The Popantel Tapeworm Tablet is quarter scored for easy breaking and more accurate dosage in cats and small dogs.
Precautions:
Due to the nature of Praziquantel, some cats may salivate after treatment - this is transient.
Directions for Use:
Dose is 1 tablet/10 kg for most tapeworms. In cases of infection with Spirometra erinacei (zipper worm) the dose rate should be increased to 1 tablet/2.5 kg.
For Hydatid Tapeworm Control in Dogs: Treat every 6 weeks
Other Tapeworms: Treat every 3 months and treat your pet regularly for fleas.
In cases of zipper worm dogs and cats should be discouraged from scavenging lizards, frogs and other intermediate hosts, or re-infections can occur rapidly.
Pregnant Bitches & Queens
Treat prior to mating, 10 days before and 4 weeks after birth and then every 3 month
