It is instinctive for parrots to chew; it is a healthy, normal behaviour which should be encouraged by caregivers. Every individual's destructive tendencies will vary, however, living in a stimulated environment and focusing on available chew toys will minimize the parrots' inclination to chew on household furnishings, cages etc.
