Is it safe to give calcium supplements to puppies?

Calcium supplements are safe when they are used correctly and administered when needed. Any time pets are given excessive amounts of supplements, including calcium, the balance between other minerals and nutrients can be disturbed.

In general, puppies do not require a calcium supplement if they are on a good quality balanced diet and are in good overall health.
