Meet Dr Glenn; vet-n-pet DIRECT’s resident veterinarian

Dr Glenn is the Chief Veterinarian for vet-n-pet Direct and has been since the start of the company.  He has 27 years of experience in both small and large animal practice. Coming from a cattle farming family in Central Queensland, Glenn naturally found himself working in mixed practice. However, he has always enjoyed the challenges and variety presented by small animal medicine and surgery.

Over the years he has spent time working in a couple of exclusively small animal clinics as well as a small animal emergency hospital. Glenn has also acquired considerable experience as an equine vet having worked for some major equine stud practices in both Queensland and New South Wales. Glenn has worked in a variety of locations around Australia including the Sunshine Coast, Townsville, Katherine, Darwin, Port Hedland, Dubbo, the Gold Coast and Beaudesert. He has owned and operated The Bloomin’ VetPractice since 2004, helping out pets in the Greenbank, Southern Brisbane area.

One of the most enjoyable things Glenn finds about being a veterinarian is seeing the difference in the quality of life experienced by some pets when chronic conditions are alleviated through a combination of medication, treatment and/or surgery. He also really enjoys seeing children take an active interest in the care of their pets when they bring their pets in with their family. Glenn also enjoys creating great educational content thru social media, podcasts and YouTube as a way to help more people care for their pets.

Away from work Glenn enjoys improving the health of the soil, environment and animals on his home farm thru regenerative agricultural principles. Building habitat of native wildlife, improving water retention and increasing biodiversity.

Glenn has two pet Dalmatian dogs Eeppoonnee (Ep) and Stoick and a scruffy Jack Russell Terrier Hiccup and 3 indoor cats –  Burmese Kachin, Mandalay Inwa and gorgeous stray Guppy.   The menagerie is completed by 15 horses, 2 cows, some sheep, 3 cheeky Goats, 25 retired layer chickens and some light Sussex Hens.
