Our 5 month old Whippet pup pulled hard constantly on his martingale collar and I was concerned he was hurting himself. After a lot of research I purchased the webmaster harness (small size) and I have to say it was the best decision I made. He loves it, and it makes our walk so much more enjoyable. He doesn't pull, tends to not want to drag me along, and walks a lot more steady and at ease. Cannot recommend it highly enough. The small size is good for him as well, with enough room as he grows to fit him as an adult dog.
Having the belly strap means that the harness doesn’t continually slip forward due to the missing leg. A front amputation means the upper body jerks up and down when walking. The between the shoulder lead attachment eliminates the lead jerking and pulling on the neck and collar.
My dog, an 11kg mini poodle, has a girth of 56cm which is right on the border line between XSmall and Small. I initially purchased the Small which fit well around his girth but was far too long on his back and too loose around his neck. The XSmall fits perfectly around his neck and along his back, however, the straps around his girth are extended to their maximum length to ensure a comfortable fit. He can’t afford to put on any weight. A few extra centimetres on the girth straps would have been beneficial. The harness is very well made, the blue is a lovely colour, and we get a lot of comments. I specifically bought this harness for the handle. Although my dog is 12 years old, he can still get very excited and is quite strong. I regularly take him to visit my father who lives in an aged care home. When he gets over excited from all the attention from the staff and other residents, I can easily gain control by just reaching down and holding on to the handle. He also seems to pull less on the lead when he wears his new harness. The harness is easy to adjust and put on, and the fabric tabs under the fasteners are great for helping to prevent accidentally pinching his skin. Vet-n-Pet Direct provided a very helpful and efficient customer service and the returns process was amazingly easy and hassle free.
My dog has the ability to escape out of every harness I have used.
He chases dogs, cats, Kangaroos, sheep, goats.
He jumps up on his hind legs and backs out of his harnesses.
I purchased this for Xmas pressie and have used it twice so far he has not wiggled out, size medium he was borderline small to medium so we decided Medium so it would not rub or be too tight.
So far so good and easy to fit love the handle it has come in handy to grad when he really pulls.
Attachment on top so he feels he more in control rather than front chest clip like other harness.
Money spent was more expensive than other cheaper harnesses but at least I feel more confident walking him and in remote areas not worrying he will run off and wait for him to return.
Glad i paid extra for quality product rather than cheap version. My jack russell slipped his harnesses off so quick you didnt always realise until too late. He hasn't slipped this one. Was sceptical about buying the extra small size that the size chart suggested as he is usually a small in other brands but these harness sizes are larger than other brands and the extra small fits on tightest setting. My dog doesn't mind wearing this harness and i found the handle useful for extra control when a large uncontrolled dog was stressing him out so much i had to intervene. My only criticism is that the straps tend to slightly irritate my dogs skin near front upper leg joints but all harnesses seem to do that to him anyway and could just be his shape.
