Toxin Binder has been formulated from specific ingredients that may bind harmful mycotoxins in the horse≈'s digestive tract during periods of high mycotoxin contamination. Toxin Binder is designed to bind to the polar and non-polar mycotoxins.
What is a Mycotoxin?
Mycotoxins can be found in the fungi that grow on some grasses -mainly paspalum, rye, couch and some weeds and clover. More than 500 mycotoxins have been identified to date. They are more prevalent in hot and humid conditions (spring and summer) and can also be found in some commercial feeds and hays.
About the Ingredients:
Mycosorb A+ contains two main ingredients; a specific strain of yeast and algae meal. Mycotoxins are thought to bind to this strain of yeast, thus removing them from the horse≈'s digestive tract. The algae is also thought to target and absorb different types of toxins, removing a wider range of toxins when combined.
Actigen and Ecocell are strains of yeast containing Mannan Oligosaccharides (MOS). MOS are considered a prebiotic and are thought to promote the growth of healthy gut bacteria in the hindgut. They may also boost the immune function in the digestive tract.
PowerStance is a powdered coconut oil. It may have antimicrobial actions from the lauric acid for optimizing gut health, maintaining appetite and normal digestive function.
Signs of Mycotoxin poisoning:
- Symptoms can vary widely but may include:
- Itchy skin and/or hair loss
- Scabby sores
- Stiffness
- String halt/staggers
- Wasted topline
- Sunburnt nose
- Persistent cough
- Odd sweating
- Coarse, dull coat
- Persistent greasy heel/rain scald
- Unexplained spookiness and dangerous behaviour
Mycotoxin poisoning may also cause the following without any obvious signs:
- Depleted minerals in the body
- Decreased immune function
- Negative impact on the kidneys, liver and reproductive system
- Severe cases can lead to death
From $38.95

Kohnke’s Own FABBY is a multi-action digestive supplement for horses.
Kohnke’s Own FABBY is formulated using the latest scientific knowledge in probiotic and prebiotic research to help optimise the digestive efficiency of the hindgut (large intestine) in all horses. The highly concentrated probiotics, multiple premium prebiotics and other hindgut activating nutrients comprise a unique and powerful formulation that is suitable for horses of all ages and dietary intakes.
The Premium Probiotic and Prebiotic Supplement with Hindgut Activators
FABBY is an acronym for the many benefical active ingredients which naturally help your horse’s gut microbiota!
Features specific nutrients with dietary roles in:
- Functional fibres for hindgut activation
- Active yeast components to foster growth of good bacteia
- Beneficial prebiotics to help conversion of feed to energy
- Broad spectrum mycotoxin binders to help minimize digestive issues
- Yeasts & other live probiotics to help balance hindgut populations
Probiotics:
The probiotics in FABBY include highly researched and equine-targeted live yeasts plus bacteria including Lactobacillus and Bifidobacterium strains. These probiotics are highly concentrated (18 Billion CFU per maintenance dose) and actively reduce hindgut acidosis without artificial buffers. Acid imbalance in the hindgut can cause serious problems, including acidic build up, hindgut ulcers or ‘cow-pat’ manure. FABBY protects against negative effects of hindgut starch overload in horses consuming high starch diets. The live yeasts in FABBY are also proven to boost digestion of fibre sources for improved condition in ‘hard keeper’ or ‘poor-doer’ horses.
Prebiotics:
FABBY includes multiple prebiotics to help feed ‘good bacteria’ populations to positively influence the hindgut microbiota. These prebiotics have been proven to help adapt to new diets, especially after sudden feed changes and improve conversion of feed to energy in horses with inefficient digestive function.
Active Yeast Components:
Active Yeast Components are specially purified parts of the yeast cell, including MOS (mannan oligosaccharides), B-glucans and nucleotides which are designed to block attachment of infectious ‘bad’ bacteria and the action of pathogens in the hindgut. The purified nucleotides in FABBY benefit digestive function and regenerate the gastro-intestinal lining. The combination of these Active Yeast Components may reduce scouring or loose manure in horses with poor hindgut microbiota balance.
Functional Fibres:
The functional fibres in FABBY are a special blend of digestible and indigestible fibres which are designed to stimulate important areas of the gastro-intestinal tract for improved function, helping to regulate food passage through the digestive system. Optimising the working of the hindgut is an important process in healthy manure production and general good digestion.
Mycotoxin Binders:
The mycotoxin binders in FABBY constitute a broad-spectrum approach using multiple types to counter a wider range of mycotoxins, but are specially selected to not absorb or bind other feed nutrients, such as vitamins. FABBY is formulated to help horses exposed to feed ingested mycotoxins (up to a moderate level) and reduce risk of digestive upsets or problems in horses with feed sensitivities.
Specific Amino Acids including L-Glutamine:
Specific amino acids such as L-glutamine are particularly included as it helps to regulate passage of manure through the gastro-intestinal tract and also feeds the cells lining the digestive system with energy to optimise digestive activity and maintain normal barrier function. The combination of ingredients in FABBY are uniquely designed to help the entire hindgut and its contents.
Proven Results from Extensive Research:
FABBY has been research tested for over 3 years in field trials with over 100 Aussie horses. Trial owners reported their horses particularly benefited from optimised hindgut function, reduced loose manure or scouring issues, better utilisation of feed to maintain condition, plus visibly improved general health and vitality, even in situations of stress, change in feed or hay, lack of pasture, age, infirmity or high grain/starch diets.

- All natural
- Fast acting & effective absorption of mycotoxins
Certain fungi found on fresh pasture grasses, conserved roughage (hay, chaff, straw) and in grains can produce secondary compounds called mycotoxins. Several types of mycotoxins exist which may interact, especially under favourable environmental conditions such as in warm and humid climates. Mycotoxins may contaminate feeds or grains and are hard to detect due to their odourless, tasteless and invisible presence.
The horse’s digestive system is sensitive to the effects of mycotoxins, as the gastric juices in the stomach cannot effectively deactivate the mycotoxins and these therefore enter the sensitive small intestine and hindgut. Once mycotoxins reach the hindgut they may affect the intestinal wall or enter the horse’s blood stream, which can result in respiratory, gastrointestinal, neurological and reproductive issues.
Safeguard EQ may be of benefit to horses exhibiting one or more of the following symptoms: Stringhalt, aggressive or unruly behaviour, hypersensitivity / ‘girthiness’, poor coat quality, diarrhoea, poor conditioning and rye grass staggers.

Kohnke’s Own Tox-Target is the ultimate mycotoxin binder for horses with a high potency and broad-spectrum action.
Mycotoxins are toxic substances produced by moulds on grass, weeds, grain, feeds and hays. They can create significant challenges to a horse’s health.
Horses consuming mycotoxins can exhibit a range of symptoms, commonly termed mycotoxicosis. These include unexplained random spooky behaviour, skin irritation, photosensitivity, head-shaking or flicking, staggers, to gut issues, poor growth, low fertility, immune problems and lack of stamina.
Moulds that invade certain grass species can produce mycotoxins which are particularly toxic to horses. Key types include black paspalum (ergot mycotoxins), ryegrass, clovers, tall fescue, weeds such as capeweed and other grasses that grow in hot, wet or damp climates.
Tox-Target contains multiple mycotoxin binders in a concentrated formula designed for an ‘ultra-high level’ binding capacity. The combination of mineral, organic and inorganic binders give Tox-Target a broad-spectrum action to bind many different mycotoxins and allow them to be expelled in the manure, rather than being absorbed by the horse.
Long term mycotoxin exposure can negatively impact horse health and wellbeing. Tox Target contains nutrients that help to ‘detoxify’ the liver, kidneys and other organs that may have been affected by ingestion of mycotoxins.
Tox-Target has been especially researched and tested for horses grazing on pastures that are infected by mycotoxins. Extensive field trials demonstrated excellent results in helping horses that had showed visible symptoms of mycotoxicosis.

Horse Toxin Binder Supplements
What are Horse Toxin Binders?
Horse toxin binders are supplements designed to support equine health by helping horses neutralise harmful substances that they may inadvertently ingest, such as mycotoxins in contaminated feed or environmental pollutants, which pose a risk to your horse's health by potentially disrupting digestive function and compromising overall vitality.
How do Toxin Binder Supplements work?
These supplements typically contain natural ingredients like activated charcoal, clay minerals, and yeast-derived compounds, which bind to toxins in the gastrointestinal tract and prevent their absorption into the bloodstream.
Why should I give my Horse a Toxin Binder Supplement?
Incorporating toxin binders into your horse's routine can provide invaluable protection against the unseen threats lurking in their environment. By reducing toxin load, these supplements may help prevent or reduce the risk of digestive disturbances, support immune function, and promote overall well-being in horses. Whether your horse is a seasoned competitor or a beloved companion, ensuring their well-being is a top priority. However, it's essential to consult with your veterinarian before introducing any new supplements to your horse's diet, as they can provide personalised guidance based on your horse's unique needs.
