A powder that forms a liquid nectar when mixed with water and is a balanced maintenance food for lorikeets and honeyeaters. The food is made by adding 300g of powder to 500mL of warm water, mixing well then making up to 1 Litre with water. Prepared food may be stored frozen.

What is a Probiotic and how does it work?
  The digestive system of all animals and birds is home to literally billions of bacteria and yeasts referred to as Microflora.
Microflora are essential to the health of any animal; aiding the digestion, breaking down cellulose and other indigestible substances; helping the synthesis and absorption of vitamins and minerals; stimulating the immune system and preventing the proliferation of pathogens. (Pathogens reduce nutrient absorption, animal performance and cause disease).

Stress, in all forms is one of the major causes of disruption to the normal balance of microflora in the gut, allowing proliferation of pathogens. Loss of appetite, picky eating, scouring, poor condition and changes in temperament are some of the less consequences. Stress is easily induced with some common causes being: changes in diet, heavy work or training, temperature extremes, breeding, transportation, worming, vaccinations and changes to environment. 

Use of ProN8ure in these circumstances protects horses from negative intestinal changes while improving digestive efficiency and general health.

Antibiotics are particularly harmful to gut microflora, leaving animals susceptible to re-infection. ProN8ure should always be administered following any course of antibiotics. The digestive system plays a vital role in the health, vigour and performance of horses. Its correct functioning is dependent on the level and balance of bacteria and yeasts called microflora. Microflora have the major role in breaking down indigestible nutrients, in the synthesis and absorption of vitamins and minerals, in stimulating the immune system and in preventing the proliferation of pathogens in the gut.

Feeding Directions:
Feed as a dry crumble, replacing the seed proportion of the bird's diet.

Birds that are accustomed to eating seed need to modify their feeding technique to eat Crumbles. Initially they will disintegrate the food, but they should soon learn to totally consume the Crumbles and even eat any powder produced during feeding. Avoid changing the diet on days that are either very hot or very cold, or during times of stress on the bird.

Observe the birds regularly to ensure they are eating the Crumbles.
Don't over-fill the feed bowl, as birds will tend to scatter the Crumbles in search of their normal food.
Have at most two layers of Crumbles in the feed bowl.

What to feed with Crumbles?
Crumbles are a complete diet. Limit the use of supplements and treats. Offer up to 20% of the diet as fruit (apple, pear, kiwifruit, orange) or vegetables (corn cob, silver beet, kale, asian greens, carrot, capsicum, broccoli) as well as fresh seeding grasses and sprouted seed.

Dried Mealworms are a popular food source for poultry, caged birds, wild birds, lizards, turtles and fish.
In the wild, foraging would normally produce a wide- ranging diet and mealworms are a return to this natural habit that can help promote a balanced diet in conjunction with daily feed.
Mealworms are a great source of protein and essential nutrients.
Supplemental feed can be particularly useful for seed-eating birds where diet is important at breeding time.

Why do we recommend Spark Liquid?

During times of heat stress (e.g. birds have their wings out, are mouth-breathing and are down on the ground) birds are undergoing changes in their body chemistry. Their blood pH is altering, their sodium and potassium levels are out of kilter and their fluid balance is incorrect. While we struggle to control the temperature, we must also help the birds return to normal as soon as possible – this is why we use electrolytes!

When we are talking about electrolytes - it is balance that is key. Not only do all body cells require electrolytes to function correctly, they require certain amounts of each type of electrolyte.

Vetafarm Breeding Aid is an oil-based breeding supplement, fortified with stabilised vitamins for the addition to seed diets.

Healthy membranes in a fertilised egg are essential if the embryo is to develop into a healthy chick. For membrane development breeding birds need access to essential fatty acids.

Breeding Aid contains essential fatty acids for membrane development, egg laying, chick growth and immunity, and Vitamin A for cell development, Vitamin D3 for calcium absorption, bone growth and egg formation and Vitamin E, an antioxidant that helps maintain cell membranes.

Make freely available as your birds primary diet. Forest Fusion Lorikeet may be fed dry, direct out of the packet or as a wet mix by adding a small amount of water.

Wet Mix: A wet mix can be achieved by adding warm water to the powder and mixing thoroughly with a fork. You can mix to any consistency you desire but Vetafarm recommends a mix of 1 heaped teaspoon of Forest Fusion Lorikeet with 10 teaspoons of hot water. Mix well with a fork and change every 24hrs.

Forest Fusion Lorikeet is designed as a complete diet when fed at 80% of the total diet.

Converting Lorikeets: We use the natural deliciousness of dates, bee pollen and blueberry to achieve an outstanding taste! However, as most commercial lorikeet diets contain large quantities of refined sugar, changing some birds from one of these diets may take a number of days.

Directions:
For conversion from seed if gradual, mix 50:50 seed to crumbles. Allow all seed to be eaten before adding more mix. Birds should be consuming the crumbles within 3-4 days. Once crumbles are being eaten, eliminate seed.

Conversion may be sudden, simply remove all seed and replace with crumbles. Ensure familiar feed dishes and feeding locations are retained. Birds may appear fluffed for 2-3 days while their systems adjust but should return to normal within a week.

For soft feeding add hot water to a small amount of crumbles, stir and supply in place of normal soft foods. As birds take to this food, decrease the water added and begin reducing the amount of seed supplied. Birds will convert shortly.

Water must be available at all times as birds on Finch Crumbles consume more water than seed eating birds. (Allow for extra water consumption when using in-water medications).
