Equest Plus Tape wormer for horses controls tapeworm in addition to all the other major gastrointestinal worms and bots.
Equest Plus Tape is the only horse wormer that is long acting: re-treatment is recommended after 14-16 weeks compared to after 6-8 weeks with other wormers. This means fewer treatments per year and twice the time that pastures are left free of worm eggs.
Equest Plus Tape is also the only horse wormer to have a registered claim to control encysted small strongyles in a single dose. Small strongyle worms hibernate or encyst in the lining of the horses gut and can cause colic. While other horse wormers kill the small strongyle worms that are in the gut itself, Equest Plus Tape is the only wormer with a registered claim to also kill the encysted forms. This means that the life cycle is blocked at a much earlier stage and that no small strongyle worms can re-emerge and mature in the horses gut straight after worming.
Equest Plus Tape is a unique gel formulation that dissolves rapidly on the tongue. The dial up syringe is designed with a narrow barrel to allow easy access into the side of the horses mouth and deliver the right dose every time.
Equest Plus Tape is safe for pregnant mares and breeding stallions as well as foal over 4 weeks of age.
Active Constituents: Moxidectin 20mg/ml, Praziquantel 125mg/mL.
Contents: 14.4g net (Sufficient to treat a horse of 700kg)
Broad Spectrum:
Equest Plus Tape long acting horse wormer and boticide gel is the only horse wormer to control tapeworm and all important gastrointestinal roundworms, including adult and encysted stages (DL, LL3, EL4) and benzimidazole resistant strains of small strongyles, and aids in control of early encysted stages (EL3), including inhibited larvae (greater than 90% effective). Protects for 14 -16 weeks.
Parasite Control Programs:
All horses should have a regular parasite control program. Regular treatment will reduce the risk of diseases due to small and large strongyles such as colic and verminous arteritis. Reinfection of horses with worms is common and treatment must be repeated routinely to ensure effective control. The unique long term activity of Equest Plus Tape long acting horse wormer & boticide gel against worms, including encysted small strongyles, is particularly useful in reducing the required dosing frequency in strategic parasite control programs. Retreatment intervals for the control of small strongyles can be extended for 14 to 16 weeks. Consult your veterinarian for advice on faecal egg count interpretation and the appropriate program for your specific needs.
Indications:
Equest Plus Tape contains the active ingredient moxidectin, a second generation macrocyclic lactone, and praziquantel, a synthetic isoquinoline-pyrazine derivative. Equest Plus Tape is palatable and effective for the treatment and control of:
Egg Reappearance Period (ERP) for Equest Plus tape long acting horse wormer and boticide gel is at least 14 weeks, which means that recontamination of the pasture by strongyle eggs is significantly reduced during this period.

Egg Reappearance Period (ERP) for Equest Plus tape long acting horse wormer and boticide gel is at least 14 weeks, which means that recontamination of the pasture by strongyle eggs is significantly reduced during this period.
Directions for Use:
Do not administer the full syringe to horses under 400kg
Use with caution in foals and smaller breeds by carefully calibrating the dose and avoid overdosing.
Keep away from dogs. Excessive consumption of split material may cause toxicity.
When used as directed, Equest Plus Tape long acting horse wormer and boticide gel is safe in foals over 4 weeks of age, and in all breeding stock, including stallions and pregnant mares.
Dosage:
Equest Plus Tape is administered orally (into the mouth) at a dose rate of 0.4mg/kg moxidectin and 2.5mg/kg praziquantel. It is supplied in a ready to use syringe, calibrated according to the bodyweight of the horse to be treated, in intervals of 25kg bodyweight.
Administration:
1. Prepare the syringe: Hold the syringe with the capped end pointing to the left so that the weight measurements and the tick marks (small black lines) can be seen. Turn the dial ring until the left side of the ring lines up with the weight of the animal. In the diagram below, the dial ring is set to dose a 400kg animal. Remove the barrel cap and save it for later use if required.
2. Administer the dose. Ensure the animal's mouth is empty, with your thumb on the plunger, insert the nozzle of the syringe into the horse's mouth at the space between the front and rear teeth, and make sure the tip of the syringe is over the back of the tongue. Deliver the dose of gel onto the back of the tongue by gently pushing the plunger until it stops. Raise the horse's head once dosing is completed to ensure the gel is swallowed.
Surplus gel can be stored or be used to treat a second horse. If gel remains in the syringe once the full dose has been delivered, replace the barrel cap; store the remaining gel below 30 degrees celsius (room temperature) for later use, but do not use after the expiry date shown on the label.
If the first animal treated weighed less than 700kg, there will be gel left in the syringe, which can be used to treat a second horse. To set the next dose, add the weight of the animal to be treated to the dose setting already on the syringe. For example, if the syringe was first used to treat a foal weighing 100kg, the dial ring is set on 100kg. To treat a horse of 400kg next, move the dial ring to the 500kg marking. More than one syringe is needed to treat horses weighing more than 700kg.
