SENTINEL® SPECTRUM must be given every month, preferably on the same date each month to ensure complete protection for your dog.

Milbemycin oxime, praziquantel and lufenuron are the active ingredients in Sentinel Spectrum Tasty Chews.

Milbemycin oxime interferes with nerve transmission in invertebrates, which helps protect against heartworm, roundworm, hookworm and whipworm (minimum dose rate: 0.5mg/kg).

Praziquantel causes muscle spasm in tapeworm, which are then attacked by enzymes and disintegrate (minimum dose rate: 5mg/kg). It kills all intestinal forms of tapeworm except Spirometra spp, which require a higher than standard dose rate.

Lufenuron is an insect growth regulator that interrupts the flea breeding cycle. Adult fleas that feed on an animal treated with Sentinel Spectrum will produce eggs or larvae that do not develop to the adult stage. Therefore reducing the number of fleas in the environment.

Sentinel Spectrum Tasty Chews are beef-flavoured, and studies have shown they are so palatable that 97% of dogs accept them straight from the hand.

Sentinel Spectrum Tasty Chews provide broad spectrum parasite protection.

Sentinel Spectrum Tasty Chews prevent heartworm (Dirofilaria immitis) and control roundworm (Toxocara canis, Toxascaris leonina), hookworm (Ancylostoma caninum), whipworm (Trichuris vulpis), tapeworm and flea infestations in dogs.

Dosage and Administration

Once a month, ideally on the same date.

If a dose is overdue by <15 days, treat immediately and resume monthly dosing.

If a dose is missed by 15-30 days, heartworm prevention can be maintained if treated immediately and monthly dosing resumes for at least the next 2 months.

If a dose is missed by >60 days, a veterinarian must be consulted in case the animal has contracted heartworm. Dosing may be recommenced, and a blood test for adult heartworm must be performed after 6 months.

Dose must be given with a full meal, either within food or immediately afterwards (to allow effective absorption of lufenuron).

Formulations and Packaging:
Sentinel Spectrum Tasty Chews containing 2.3mg milbemycin oxime, 22.8mg praziquantel and 46mg lufenuron in orange pack.

Sentinel Spectrum Tasty Chews containing 5.75mg milbemycin oxime, 57mg praziquantel and 150mg lufenuron in green pack.

Sentinel Spectrum Tasty Chews containing 11.5mg milbemycin oxime, 114mg praziquantel and 230mg lufenuron in yellow pack.

Sentinel Spectrum Tasty Chews containing 23mg milbemycin oxime, 228mg praziquantel and 460mg lufenuron in blue pack.

97% of dogs will take the tasty chews straight from the hand. Otherwise, the dose can be added to a small meal or placed directly in the mouth, similar to tablet dosing.

Sentinel Spectrum Tasty Chews come in packs of three (a 3-month supply) and six (a 6-month supply).

Sentinel Spectrum Tasty Chews can be safely used in puppies from 6 weeks of age, breeding males and females, and collies sensitive to ivermectin.

Sentinel Spectrum Tasty Chews have been safety tested at up to 10 times the recommended dose.

If an animal with adult heartworm infection (and therefore circulating microfilariae) is given Sentinel Spectrum, a transient shock-like reaction can occur. To avoid this, dogs should be tested for adult heartworm and treated if necessary, before starting Sentinel Spectrum.

Sentinel Spectrum Chews. Orange for Very Small Dogs 0-4kg

All good, my dog is a fussy eater but he takes them fine. No problems so far with fleas or anything else.

Sentinel Spectrum Chews. Orange for Very Small Dogs 0-4kg

Most unimpressed with this product. I was using Frontline topically for flees and separate worming products religiously and then switched to Sentinel for the convenience of one tablet/chew a month (now including heart-worm prevention) and no uncomfortable wetness between the back shoulder blades. Unfortunately, exactly 1 week after giving our 5 month old puppy this treatment, she got fleas for the first time! This is not acceptable to me and I won't be ordering this product again. I had to rush out and buy more Frontline flea treatment from a near by pet store and it cost me more money. In fact, I'd like a refund - assuming these reviews get screened.
