Cylence Ultra Insecticide Cattle Ear Tags provide effective and long-lasting control of buffalo flies, including populations resistant to organophosphate insecticides, in both beef and dairy cattle.
Each tag is impregnated with Betacyfluthrin, a second-generation synthetic pyrethroid insecticide, and Piperonyl butoxide, which acts as a synergist to enhance effectiveness. The active ingredients are slowly released from the tag, providing up to 4 months of protection against buffalo fly infestations.
Each tag provides up to 4 months of buffalo fly protection.
To apply, attach two tags per animal (one in each ear) using an Allflex Universal (Red) or LazaMatic applicator. Tag all cattle over 3 months of age — tagging younger calves may cause ear damage.
Cylence Ultra is most effective when applied during peak fly season, typically when cattle show signs of fly worry or when infestations exceed 200 flies per beef animal or 30 flies per dairy cow.
Apply at the start of peak fly season for best results.
To help prevent insecticide resistance, rotate between chemical classes both within and between seasons. Continuous use of one class (e.g. pyrethroids or organophosphates) can reduce long-term effectiveness.
