FEEDING GUIDE:

Use the Di-Vetelact scoop supplied, 20mL Di-Vetelact Scoop = 9 grams powder, and
Add 1 scoop to 60mL of warm water.
For 1 Litre : add 15 scoops (135g to 900mL)

Ensure water has been pre-boiled and is cooled to approximately 40ºC. Mix together well to form a smooth milk consistency. Always shake or stir vigorously before feeding to evenly distribute nutrients.

Serve immediately or refrigerate and serve within 24 hours.

Bottle feeding: Any milk remaining in the bottle should be discarded after the feed.
Bowl feeding: Any milk remaining in the bowl should be discarded after 2 hours. Ensure bowl is cleaned well.

40% Sugar!!

Wondered why our baby foals front teeth were turning yellow/brown after starting bottle feeding with this powder. Checked label on back and noticed it was 40% sugar. Makes sense why they hanker for it so much - fulfils their sweet tooth (akin to kids and lollies). Now looking for healthier alternatives. ;-)

Thanks for the review PJ. We thought we would let you know what Divetelact have responsed with as they care a lot about their product and have been making it for a very long time: Di-Vetelact is 40% carbohydrate not 40% sugar. Naturally occuring horse milk (ie 'wild' horse milk) analysis is even higher than this - somewhere around 60 - 70% carbohydrate. In terms of the actual analyis of horse milk, it is between 60 and 70% sugar, 15-28% protein and 5-20% fat. So Di-Vetelact is actually substantially lower in carbohydrate than wild horse milk. We hope that helps.

This is a great weaning product. Then discovered they can have it as they get older just sprinkled over food.
