The Bioscape Undergravel Filter is a simple, effective aquarium filtration system based on a time-tested design that continues to deliver reliable results. Designed to sit beneath the substrate, it uses the gravel bed itself as part of the filtration process, helping to support a cleaner, healthier aquarium.

By drawing water down through the gravel, the Bioscape Undergravel Filter creates a large surface area for beneficial bacteria to colonise. This helps promote strong biological filtration, supporting the breakdown of harmful ammonia and nitrites and contributing to more stable water quality over time.

One of the key advantages of an undergravel filter is the way it turns the entire substrate bed into a working filter. Rather than relying only on a small cartridge or compact media chamber, it makes use of the space already in your aquarium to help maintain a balanced aquatic environment.

This style of filtration is also valued for its straightforward design. With few moving parts, undergravel filters are easy to set up, easy to operate and dependable in day-to-day use. When paired with an air pump or powerhead, they provide steady water movement through the substrate to support consistent filtration.

As water is pulled through the gravel, waste and fine debris can be trapped in the substrate, where they can be removed during regular gravel cleaning. This helps support clearer water and encourages good maintenance habits as part of routine tank care.

Suitable Substrates:
Undergravel filters work best with standard aquarium gravel or other coarse substrates that allow water to flow freely through the bed. Very fine sand or compact substrates are not recommended, as they can restrict water movement and reduce the effectiveness of the filter.

Grazaid is a palatable blend of broad-spectrum toxin binders, salt, magnesium, live yeast probiotics and yeast derivatives as a nutritional digestive aid and to supplement mineral levels where dietary intakes may be inadequate.

Mycotoxins in the hard feed are often undetectable to the human eye and nose but may be present at low levels in grains and grain-based feeds, causing under-performance in horses.

Mineral imbalance in pasture can cause dietary problems for horses, especially during spring and autumn when lush pastures can be high in potassium and nitrates.

Grazaid is a palatable powder combining:

• Organic and volcanic toxin binders with enzymes to trap and deactivate mycotoxins;
• Gut conditioners and prebiotics to strengthen the body’s natural defences and support a normal population of beneficial gut microbes; and
