The natural pyrethrins, which have no anti-cholinesterase activity, act in insects by slowly closing the sodium channel activation gate causing hyperexcitation followed by convulsion and death. They are synergised by piperonyl butoxide, which has a minor repellant action in its own right.
INDICATIONS
Fleas and lice on cats and dogs.

Use in sick or convalescing animals.
WARNINGS
In paralysis tick areas daily examination of dogs and cats is desirable. May cause dribbling and unsteady gait in cats. If one or both occur wipe off excess product and contact a veterinarian.
PRECAUTIONS
Use with caution on puppies and kittens.
DIRECTIONS FOR USE
Wet the coat thoroughly with warm water and apply FIDO'S FLEA SHAMPOO at several places. Work into a good lather and massage well into the coat. Leave for 5 minutes, them rinse with clean warm water and dry thoroughly.

DErt Control is 100% safe for dogs, cats, horses and even rabbits but deadly to ticks, fleas, bed bugs and all sorts of other nasty parasites.
- Certified Organic – Listed with Australian Certified Organic.
- Made in Australia – Mined in QLD’s Mt Silvia mine.
- The natural way of eliminating fleas and ticks on pets
The diatom’s porous nature dehydrates the fleas. Because of the diatom’s nature diatomaceous earth needs to be dry while it’s in contact with the fleas to be effective.
Directions for Use:
Diatomaceous Earth is applied directly to your pet’s coat and surroundings. This is safe for dogs or cats, even if it eats some it can act as an internal detox and natural dewormer.
DE can also be used as a repellent as well if you dust your pets after playing in an area that is prone to harbour fleas.
Focus your efforts on your pet’s bedding and other areas they visit frequently. The more exposure the fleas have to DErt Control the faster you will see results. Other good areas to target include the kennel, food bowls and any outdoor areas, that your pets spend a good amount of time in.
For the best effect:
Once a dog or cat pick up fleas, it can be difficult to get rid of the infestation with natural flea remedies. A dog or cat will bring fleas into the home causing fleas and eggs to fall on the carpet, pet bed, and furniture. Wherever fleas land they can breed, so it’s important to think they can be everywhere.
Diatomaceous earth must remain in contact with the fleas to continue working effectively. The diatom’s porous nature dehydrates the flea. Because of the diatom’s nature, diatomaceous earth needs to be dry while it’s in contact with the fleas to be effective.
Keep your pet’s skin moisturised.
If your dog has a sensitive and/or dry skin it is recommended to supplement their diet with an edible oil such as our Hemp seed oil. After about 2 or 3 days you’ll want to bathe your dog. It’s recommended not to bathe dogs more than once a month, since it dries out their skin. It is best to use a soap-free or moisturising shampoo. Afterwards, comb through your dog’s fur with a flea comb to help rid your dog of dead fleas.
Have patience with the process
You should treat your dog’s environment with diatomaceous earth twice a week, leaving it on for about 1 to 3 days. Repeat this process for 2 to 3 weeks. Diatomaceous earth is not a quick fix. It will take time for the flea to come into contact with the diatomaceous earth, and about 48 hours to dehydrate the flea it has come in contact with. The process may take up to three weeks, but it’s efficient, all natural, and dog friendly.
There is no wrong way to apply diatomaceous earth; it just needs to come into contact with the insect to work.
Helpful tips and warnings
Keep in mind diatomaceous earth may dry out your dog’s skin. It’s important to take the necessary steps to prevent or counteract the effects of dry skin. Hemp oils are a great option.
Be sure to treat your pet’s regular hangouts as well.
If you have breathing problems like asthma you may want to use a dust mask while applying.
It’s recommended to treat your dog on a monthly basis as a preventative measure.
Fleas must come into contact with the diatomaceous earth to work effectively.

Flea Treatment for Cats
How to get rid of fleas on cats?
Cats and kittens need to be regularly treated for both fleas and ticks to prevent an infestation. Often you will not be able to see the full extent of a flea infestation as flea eggs hide in and around your pet’s beds, household furniture, and even your carpet.
You can use effective flea treatments like Bravecto Spot On, Seresto Collars and Revolution Plus to both treat pre-existing flea infestations and as a prevention method.
How can you prevent fleas on cats?
You can prevent your cat from getting fleas by regularly keeping up with flea treatments. Cleaning the areas where your cat hangs out can also help kill fleas and their eggs.
How to get rid of fleas in your home?
While flea treatments are essential to controlling a flea infestation, you may need to do more. If you can still see fleas on your cat after a treatment, you will need to treat and clean your pet’s environment. Clean all of your pet’s bedding and toys in a hot wash and use a flea powder like Aristopet Flea Powder on their bedding, floors and any other places they frequently visit.
What is the safest flea control for cats?
It is important that you use cat specific flea treatments for your cat, as some ingredients in dog flea treatments may be toxic to cats. Flea treatments that contain pyrethrin or natural pyrethrum are safe for cats and are found in many of our flea control products.
Tick Treatment for Cats
How to tell if your cat has ticks?
If your cat has ticks, you most likely will be able to spot them. However you should still manually check your cat for ticks, particularly in tick prone areas, by running your fingers systematically through your cat’s fur and feeling the skin. Take particular care around the head, neck and feet and any folds of skin.
What is the best tick treatment for cats?
The best tick treatment is the one that you actually apply! Purchasing a tick treatment and then forgetting to apply it happens only too frequently, and sometimes with devastating results. In terms of active ingredients, there are constantly new products being developed which are rigorously tested and have wide safety margins for use on your pets. They also may only need to be applied every few weeks or months instead of every few days. Make sure you check the usage instructions carefully. Our top tick treatments for cats include Bravecto’s range of Spot-ons, NexGard Spectra Spot-On for Cats and Frontline Spray. For a more natural approach you can try diatomaceous earth such as that offered in Pawesome Organics DErt Control.
