About this item

Entirely edible pellets mean elimination of waste, keeping aviaries and cages clean and hygienic while providing parrots with a fully balanced diet. Includes vitamns, chelated minerals, protein and energy. Active ingredients: Crude protein min 17%, crude fat min 5%, crude fibre min 3.5%, salt 0.5%.

Directions:
Parrots larger than a Quarrion – initially offer Vetafarm Parrot Pellets as a sole diet. Remove all remaining seed from the cage or aviary. Remove seed hulls or other vegetable matter from the cage. Also remove any seed bells or other treats from the cage. Offer Parrot Pellets as a sole diet for two days. If the birds are not eating after two days, mix seeds and pellets 50:50 for a further two days then return to pellets only. Repeat this process until the bids begin to eat pellets then remove seed completely.

Parrots smaller then a Quarrion – Especially Neophemas (Bourke’s, Elegants, Scarlets) mix 50:50 seed/pellet for seven days, then 75:25 pellets to seed until pellets are being consumed. Switch to total pellets as soon as pellets are being eaten. When converting to pellets, continue to use the same feed dishes and locations as when seed was offered. Birds in a colony situation and birds feeding young will convert to pellets more readily than the single bird.
Ensure adequate clean water supply during the conversion process. Birds will increase their water consumption when eating pellets. Droppings from pellet eating birds will change colour from black to brown/tan. Droppings may also increase in size.
