Serenity pH Up Powder is for increasing pH level in aquarium water. Quality Australian made product for reliable accurancy.
Flora•Viv KH+ is a professional professional alkalinity boosting KH & pH stabilizer for all freshwater & planted aquariums. Proper control of pH and alkalinity are among the most critical functions of maintaining an aquarium. Continuum recommends that you maintain an alkalinity level as specified in the directions.
Flora•Viv KH+ is a high quality product designed to raise the alkalinity (carbonate hardness (KH) or buffering capacity) of freshwater and planted aquariums at a pH of 7.8 or lower. It will increase the stability of pH over a wide range of conditions providing for safety of the entire system. It contains no phosphates, which often cause unwanted algae growth (many competing products contain 100% phosphates).
In all cases you should know your water parameters and have suitable test kits on hand before using this product.
API 5-IN-1 Test Strips are the quick and easy way to test the 5 most important aquarium water parameters – pH, KH, GH, nitrate, and nitrite – in one easy step.
Simply dip one test strip directly into the aquarium, and compare the colours on the strip to the colour card provided to help prevent invisible water problems that can be harmful to fish.
Each kit includes detailed information on how to interpret the test results and correct unsafe water conditions.
Pack Size: 4; 25; 100
The Blue Planet Freshwater pH Test Kit suits freshwater aquariums and ponds.
• Conducts over 300 Tests
• Suits Tropical and Goldfish
pH is an important part of every aquarium as it plays a role in fish health, colouration and potential breeding. This kit allows you to know where your aquarium is now, and then by using the pH Up and Down powders you can adjust to the desired pH level.
Fish do come from different areas, with many enjoying various pH levels. To allow a mix of many fish types we recommend a more neutral pH which shows as a green colour on your colour chart. For simple reference when testing, the greener the colour identifies the water around neutral. Where yellow is acidic and blue alkaline. The deeper this colour the further away from neutral the water is. To correct acid water, use Blue Planet pH Up. To correct alkaline water, use Blue Planet pH Down.
DIRECTIONS FOR USE:
1. Rinse the tube in aquarium water first, ideally the water about to be tested.
2. Half fill the tube and add to drops of the solution.
3. Add the cap; do not use your finger to cover as this may alter the reading.
4. Shake and allow a minute to view the colour.
5. Compare to the chart on the box.
6. Adjust the pH as required following directions below.
ADJUSTING pH:
Using the powders always starts with 1 tablespoon per 30L. Allow about 1 hour then re-test and repeat as needed. Do not alter quickly as fish may be shocked with the change. It is better to alter slowly over a few days where possible. If no fish are present adjust as quickly as needed.
IMPORTANT:
Avoid extreme acid or extreme alkaline aquarium water. We recommend regular monthly water changes of approximately 25% of tank capacity to regulate pH and avoid accumulation of toxic waste by-products.
Restore water chemistry of filtered or rain water with Reconstitute RO. Also available in a powder format.
Reconstitute RO is a high quality, multi-component, broad spectrum mixture of all mineral ions including General Hardness (GH), alkalinity (KH) and all major, minor and trace minerals required for optimum health and longevity of freshwater fish, invertebrates and plants. When mixed with filtered water prepared by reverse osmosis, distillation, or deionization, it will convert those filtered waters into a natural environment in which all aquarium inhabitants will thrive. It has been used to raise discus and other freshwater fish, as well as keep whole systems in breeder, public and home aquariums.
Reconstituting reverse osmosis, deionized or distilled water ensures complete user control over aquarium water parameters. Treating purified water with Reconstitute RO allows the user to customize hardness and alkalinity for the type of fish you’re keeping. This is especially important when keeping and breeding sensitive or expensive species such as discus or wild caught fish. Using reconstituted purified water will also help solve many aquarium keeping water quality issues and prevent the entry of unwanted nutrients such as phosphates that are prevalent in public water supplies.
This product may also be used to reconstitute/remineralise filtered rainwater and is particularly useful where there are no other water sources available for maintaining your aquarium such as in rural areas that dont have access to a town water source. Rainwater tends to be similar to reverse osmosis water in that is is missing most dissolved minerals and is thus very soft with low GH and KH and is quite acidic (approx 5.5-6). In all cases you should know your water parameters and have suitable test kits on hand.
Continuum Aquatics African Cichlid Elements·T is a minor, trace & rare earth

Clarifier and cloudy water controller for freshwater and planted aquariums.
Clarion F is a technologically advanced, premium quality, maximum strength clarifier that immediately and safely begins to flocculate dirt, parasites, and other debris or cloudiness causing particles into clumps that can easily be removed by a good mechanical filter with fine filter floss. It is not an algaecide. It is a high tech, long chain polymer that is safe for sensitive freshwater fish and plants when used as directed.
Use in aquarium keeping:
Clarion F is designed to be used in conjunction with a working mechanical filter, containing a good filtration medium, such as fine filter floss or a fine filter pad or cartridge to remove the clumps that it flocculates. Cloudy water and particularly green water are signs that the aquarium may be overloaded with nutrients. If you have these conditions, treat with Clarion F and then look for the cause, which may be overfeeding of fish food, or overuse of plant fertilisers, or other nutrients which can cause bacteria or algae blooms.
Clarion is not meant as a substitute for good maintenance practices. Partial frequent water changes may need to be initiated to get the system back under control. Be sure to clean filter floss or other filtration material regularly when using Clarion F. Decreased water flow from the filter shows that it is plugging up with the large clumps of cloudiness causing particles that Clarion F is flocculating.
Clarion F is not designed to clear brown or yellow tinted water. Use Continuum Labyrinth Carbon or Power Cleanse XL for this purpose.
Directions and protocol:
Not for use in marine aquariums!
Important: First use Flora Viv KH+ to adjust alkalinity (or KH) to a minimum of 2 dKH (40 ppm or .75 meq/L). Dilute 1 drop per gallon of aquarium capacity, or 1 capful (5 mL) in a cupful of treated purified water for every 200L of freshwater aquarium water to be treated. Mix thoroughly and disperse around the aquarium in areas of good water flow. Repeat in 24 hours if necessary. Use while aquarium lights are on and will be on for several hours. Morning or afternoon is best. Do not use at night or on very soft water, below 40 ppm.

Aquarium Water Care
Maintaining pristine water conditions in your aquarium not only looks great, it is essential for the health and happiness of your aquatic friends. Aquatic animals cannot escape their watery environment, so ensuring the water is appropriate for their optimal health and wellness is of primary concern to fishkeepers.
Water varies greatly all around the world, and even within the same locality. It varies in the amount of dissolved minerals and solids it contains as well as chemicals and other suspended matter. All of these things thus effect the parameters of your fish tank water. Fish evolved to suit the water parameters in which they were naturally found. Thus when we intoduce them into an aquarium, we may be exposing them to vastly different water parameters to what their biology is suited. We also confine them to a limited space/water volume and this also contributes to a build up in waste which can then in turn affect the overall water parameters.
With some homework, you can do your best to replicate the natural water environment for the species you are keeping, as well as manage the accumulation of waste products to ensure happy, healthy and disease free fish.
Commonly Asked Questions
1. Do I need to dechlorinate my water?
A dechlorinator is only required in instances where chlorine and/or chloramine is added to water to make it safe for human drinking purposes (most likely to be town water supplies). Chlorine and chloramine is harmful to fish as well as the good bacteria in your tank. An alterative to adding a dechlorinator is letting your water age from the tap for 24-48 hours before adding it to your tank which allows the chlorine to dissipate. However this method is not effective for chloramines which are more persistent.
2. How can I keep my aquarium water clear and free from algae?
In most instances, algae is more of a cosmetic issue and is not harmful to the health of your fish (indeed some fish and invertebrates love it!). Avoiding overfeeding and managing the amount of light your tank gets (avoid direct sunlight and limit the amount of hours of overhead light your tank recieves) go a long way towards managing the growth of algae in your tank. You can also use an algaecide to help control algae growth and maintain clear water (just check it is suitable to use with the livestock in your tank). Flocculant products such as Clarion.F can also be used periodically to help clump floating particles and assist your filter to mechanically remove them.
3. How do water conditioners and biological enhancers benefit my aquarium?
Water conditioners neutralize harmful chemicals and heavy metals, and many also contribute additional minerals and slime coat boosters to promote the health of your fish. Biological enhancers introduce beneficial bacteria that help break down waste and maintain a healthy environment. These can be particularly beneficial when establishing a new tank as well as when undertaking water changes.
4. Why would I need to buffer or adjust my aquarium water?
Buffers and adjusters help maintain stable pH levels and other water parameters, preventing stress and illness in your fish. Ideally select species of fish that suit the water parameters of your local water supply so you don't need to fiddle much with this. However, if you need to pursue a specific pH for the species of fish you are keeping, or improve the buffering capacity of your water such as in the case of rainwater or water produced via reverse osmosis, then the use of Buffers and Adjusters become essential. Poorly buffered water is susceptible to fluctuating pH which can be very detrimental to your fish. Water with a greater buffering capacity is more resistent to pH swings and thus a safer environment for your fish.
5. How often should I test my aquarium water, and what should I be looking for?
Regular testing, at least once a week, helps you monitor pH, ammonia, nitrite, nitrate, and other critical parameters to ensure a healthy tank. If you detect a spike in one of these levels you can then undertake appropriate remedial action such as a partial water change or replacement of filter media. Test strips are quick, reliable and convenient and are what we would recommend for most general fishkeepers. To get even more granularity into specific parameters you can also use liquid test kits or electronic meters.
6. Can I use plant fertilizers in my aquarium without harming my fish?
Yes, plant fertilizers designed for aquariums are safe for fish when used as directed, providing essential nutrients that might otherwise be lacking, for healthy plant growth.
7. What are the benefits of adding salts and minerals to my aquarium?
Salts and minerals can enhance fish health, improve water quality, and support biological processes, especially in tanks with specific needs like those housing certain fish species such as cichlids or plants.
