No flies = No Pinkeye

After 30 years of breeding calves and following a bad Pinkeye season 2019 Spring calving, decided to give this a go whilst tossing up whether to vacc calves next calving with Piligard.
Pretty impressed. Only small mob of 32 calves ( Sept/Oct drop) but so far not 1 case of Pinkeye. Not a fly in sight near any calves the whole time. Applied 5mls at first vacc and marking, 5weeks later another 10mls at second vacc, then 6 weeks later another 10-15mls depending on calf size. The chamber marking is no good ( hopeless) for older eyes so had to use a black marker to be able to see the 5,10,15 ml lines. Also it requires a VERY light touch to only fill the chamber with a small amount. LOL , if you want 5 mls then barely touch the bottle, whatever you do DON'T squeeze the bottle !! Once you get used to that it's not a problem. I figure that by the time you apply it 3 times the cost is only about 10c less than the Piligard vacc so may or may not use it next time. Does it work as an effective fly deterrent - ABSOLUTELY.

Can this be used on donkeys?

vet-n-pet DIRECT

Hi Monica

Thank you for your Question.
As a donkey falls under equine, yes you can use it on Donkeys.
It is the same label registration for donkeys as it is horses

I hope that helps.

Can coopers easy dose be used on pregnant mares

vet-n-pet DIRECT

Hi

Thank you for your Question.

There is no label registration to say that it is safe to use in Pregnant Mares.
This usually means that it has not been tested.
You may need to contact your Vet or Coopers themselves.
Sorry we are unable to give off label advice.

Is this product a "spot on" or is it diluted and sprayed on?

vet-n-pet DIRECT

Hi Cecily

Thank you for your Question.
The Coopers Easy Dose is a Pour On.
Cattle. 5 mL/100 kg liveweight. Apply to cattle in a race or draining pen, using a suitable applicator, as a single stripe along the backline. Re-treat later in the season if re-infestation occurs.
Horses. 5 mL/100 kg liveweight. Apply to horses as two single stripes. Apply approximately two-thirds of measured dose to the midline mane area (from poll to wither) and remaining one-third to midline over the rump.

I hope that helps
Cheers
