Droncit is a trusted single-dose tapeworm treatment for dogs and cats. Each tablet contains 50 mg praziquantel to control tapeworm infections, including hydatid tapeworm in dogs.
We carry the convenient 104-tablet pack—great value for multi-pet households, breeders, kennels and working dog teams.
Give as a single oral dose. No fasting required. Always weigh your animal before dosing.
| Species | Bodyweight | Tablets | Approx. Dose |
|---|---|---|---|
| Dog | 10 kg | 1 tablet | ~5 mg/kg |
| Cat | 5 kg | ½ tablet | ~5 mg/kg |
Standard dose: 5 mg/kg (dogs & cats). Dog = 1 tablet per 10 kg. Cat = ½ tablet per 5 kg.
If tapeworm segments continue to appear after standard treatment, they may be Spirometra. A higher dose (4× standard = 20 mg/kg; 1 tablet per 2.5 kg) is required—seek veterinary advice before using the high dose.
If poisoning occurs, contact a doctor or the Poisons Information Centre (Australia 13 11 26). Store below 30 °C. Dispose of empty packaging in household garbage.
