Affordable, good calcium carbonate. What else can I say.
I buy this to make up a mix I use to supplement feed my wild magpies to ensure they get enough calcium and don't develop rickets. Their chicks are at risk of broken or soft beaks and fragile bones when fed bread or mince by people who don't know what they're doing. This can lead to slow and painful death. I mix 2 1/4 tsp with 1 kg of minced meat (no preservatives), 70g Wombaroo Insectivore, 1/3 cup breadcrumbs, 75g Farex rice cereal, 1/2 - 1 cup grated cheese and 1 cup cooled boiled water. Mix thoroughly and divide into 100g bags and freeze. Another tip is storing left-over grated cheese in bags in the freezer which can then be used for this mix. More simply, you can just thoroughly mix in 1/4 tsp per 1/2 cup of mince to feed your birds. The large bags are so economical and last for ages.
