Omega 3 & 6 Plus 9 is an essential fatty acid (EFA) dietary supplement that provides the appropriate ratio of omega 3, 6 and 9 necessary to promote a healthy coat and skin. A deficiency of EFA is a frequent cause of lustreless coat.

Why does your pet need omega 3, 6 and 9? If there is too much omega 6 in the diet, it will suppress the absorption of omega 3. Omega 9 oils, however, will dilute the omega 6, and thereby limit the effects of excessive inflammatory responses whilst restoring the ratio of omega 3 to omega 6. You need all 3 omega oils to be effective.

Feeding Guide

Add to feed daily.

• Horses 500 kg: 30 mL per day
• Ponies: 15 mL per day

Introduce gradually over 5 to 10 days. Daily intake may be adjusted according to horse size, blood fatty acid analysis results, or the advice of your veterinarian or equine nutritionist.

Why Omega-3 Matters

Fresh pasture naturally contains high levels of omega-3 fatty acids. However, these beneficial nutrients decline rapidly once grass is cut and dried into hay. Horses consuming large amounts of hay or hard feed can therefore receive significantly more omega-6 fatty acids than omega-3.

Add 1g of Omega Balancer for every 1mL of canola oil where canola is used as an energy source.

Best results are obtained when used as part of a diet with correct mineral balance. Can be fed in conjunction with multi-vitamin and mineral supplements such as Equine Vit&Min. Can be fed with mineral-fortified bagged feeds. Always ensure horses have access to fresh, clean water and a source of free choice salt.

Does not contain substances prohibited by the rules of racing and FEI competitions.

Important Note

It is likely to take up to 4-6 weeks for horses to adapt fully to oil in the diet, so a gradual increase in the oil content of the diet from 30-50mL daily is advised.

It must be considered that up to as much as 10% of the diet can be achieved in fat supplementation.
