Vetafarm Origins Vita C Chews have been formulated by veterinarians to provide essential vitamin C supplementation to guinea pigs. Like humans, guinea pigs cannot produce their own vitamin C and must consume it from their diet. Vitamin C is required for many processes in the body, such as collagen production (a component in bones, skin, ligaments, and blood vessels) and immune system maintenance. Lack of vitamin C in the diet can lead to deficiency and result in the development of scurvy.
