Classic style halter (classic because it connects to the lead under the dog's jaw) and has been the Halter of choice for many trainers for the past several years. The dynamic design allows the Halter to move as the dog moves, leaving the nose bridge strap to sit comfortably in the same position. This means it doesn't tend to ride up close to the dog's eyes and the dog is more content while wearing the Halter.

How to get the best fit for your dog:
The Noseband and Cords on the Training Halter allow for a large adjustment, so sizing is based on a dog's neck measurement

Use a soft tape measure place it around your dog's neck up close behind the ears, this is where the neck strap should fit and take a snug to tight neck measurement.

Check your dog's neck measurement against the list above, to select the appropriate size.

Important: If your dog fits between 2 sizes, generally select the smaller size, UNLESS you are fitting a growing dog in which case you might go for the larger size to allow for future growth.

Nervous or reactive dogs continually have their anxiety reinforced by people or dogs moving into their comfort zone. These Vests will alert other people to your dog's dislike of being crowded, making it easier to act appropriately and if necessary modify their dog's actions around yours.

The Black Dog Space Vest is a highly visible vest with "In Training Give Me Space!", or "I'm Nervous Give Me Space" message. 

The Black Dog Space Vest is crafted from lightweight polyester for long-lasting wear and easy care. Many customers have successfully machine washed the vest; if doing so, we recommend using a gentle cycle and placing it in a laundry wash bag for extra protection.

The Haltermate is Black Dog's new figure 8 head halter. It is our Second Generation figure 8 halter - we re-designed the Infin8 and it has evolved into the Haltermate.

The Haltermate is easier to fit and adjust, yet keeps all the great features which made the original comfortable and effective.It sits securely and will not ride up into your dog's eyes. The lead attaches at the back and dogs respond quickly and easily to lead pressure.

But the Haltermate is even better - it can be left on your dog without a lead attached, it is simple to adjust and sits centered on the dog's neck. We've retained all the great features of the Infin8, without any of the hard bits.

The Haltermate is is essentially a Flat Collar with a Martingale Loop and Noseband attached. Your lead is clipped at the back of the dog's neck, so it feels just like a normal collar and the noseband only tightens when the dog pulls. This gives a very clear On/Off signal, so your dog will respond quickly and learn quickly, even to light pressure on the lead. And no matter how the lead is used, the nosebend will not ride up into the dog's eyes.

The Haltermate is extremely effective in calming a pulling, boisterous dog, without the need for harsh corrections or gruff training techniques.

Training Collars were Black Dog's first ever product. They were designed for training without the harshness and pain of a chain choker. Nowadays, the training collar is generally used more as a security collar because of the non-slip security of a martingale design - the design helps prevent dogs slipping out of their collar.

Careful consideration to design of the collar, components and choice of materials in relation to the size of dog, has enabled Black Dog Wear to produce a highly effective Training Collar that is robust and looks great.

MEASURING for a Balance Harness:

We size Balance Harnesses by the Girth Measurement of a dog.

Don't just try to guess by breed type - there's lots of variation in sizes of individual dogs, so a Girth Measurement will get the right size harness first time.

Use a soft tape measure.
*Place the tape measure around your dog's body, just behind the front legs.
*Pull it to be a tight, snug fit and read off the measurement.

Now check the chart shown, to select the correct size.

The Black Dog Wear Smart Lead is a quality lead for everyday use. It has the added advantages of being length adjustable and enabling you to securely tether your dog to a tree or pole without unclipping the lead or tying knots in it.

Smart Leads are rated for tethering strength (see each Lead, below).

Smart Leads are length adjustable from 1.5m down to 0.8m.

The Black Dog Wear Double Ended Lead is an extremely versatile lead. It can be used as a temporary tether or to connect from a harness to collar etc.

Care should always be exercised when tethering a dog, to make sure the dog is safe and supervised, that pathways are not restricted by the tethered dog (not all people are comfortable near dogs) and keep in mind that an agitated dog could easily chew through any lead to escape.

The Black Dog Wear Plain Lead is for those trainers wanting a high quality basic lead.

The Black Dog Wear Treat Pouch Tote with Belt consists of a wide mouth, magnetic close tote for holding food treats while training and an attached belt.

The attached belt is adjustable from 80cm through to 135cm.

The wide mouth opening makes it quick and easy to get to your dog's favourite rewards and the magnetic clasp will hold the Tote closed at a touch of your hand.

An internal pocket - for holding jackpot rewards - allows you quick and silent access to higher status rewards without alerting your dog.

The Black Dog Wear Car Strap is an adjustable strap with a stainless steel carabiner at one end and a clip in tongue for a seat belt buckle at the other (compatible with most makes of vehicle - not compatible with some older Volvo cars).

The Car Strap can be used in conjunction with the Black Dog Dog Harness - it will restrict a dog's movement around a car and reduce it causing a distraction to the driver.

The Hands Free Training Belt can be used for a wide range of training activities, including training a dog to walk comfortably at your side.

For Trainers using rewards, it leaves your hands free for a clicker, or treats and allows you to pay full attention to your dog while training.

The Hands Free Belt is great for walking, or jogging with your dog. It is worn tightly on the hips so it is secure and comfortable, even with large dogs. It is a wonderfully flexible tool for any serious trainer.

The Black Dog Wear Limited Slip Collar features a new Correction Loop design.

SAFE & EFFECTIVE for training your dog not to pull.

**Limited slip collars have replaced the Black dog Heavy Duty Training Collar.

Now available in all colours for the collar strap with black loop.

The New Loop Design uses a narrower, high density webbing, with a smaller clip to make it easier to fit. The loop design means the clip never takes full pressure from a pulling dog, so we are able to use a smaller clip to make it easier to feed through the main D ring.

A Limited Slip is a security collar - designed to tighten if a dog pulls on the lead, making it difficult for a dog to slip its collar.

Black Dog's unique "Clip on" design means you can adjust the collar to exactly fit your dog's neck - because this collar is not fitted over the dog's head. This type of collar is recommended for Malamutes or Huskies, or any dog where strength and security are paramount.

This collar is similar in effect to Black Dog Training Collars, however  a different set up has been used to achieve the tightening.

Selection of the most appropriate style comes down to a personal preference - some trainers say the Limited Slip sits flatter on a dog, others prefer our Training Collar design.

The Black Dog Wear Brace Lead is made from one piece of webbing, knotted around a swivel connector at the top - this enables the knot to be loosened and the arms to be adjusted, one shorter, the other longer.  It's very handy if you walk 2 dogs of different sizes.

The Brace connects to your normal lead for walking 2 dogs, or if you are game, connect 2 brace leads to walk 4 dogs!

The Treat Pouch Sock is a removable liner which fits snugly inside a Treat Pouch. It protects the pouch from sticky food residue and can be easily removed for washing, or to keep food fresh in the fridge. 

With a sock fitted, the Treat Pouch will work quickly and easily as intended - no need to work with cumbersome or environmentally unfriendly plastic bags inside the Treat Pouch. Perfect for those roast chicken or devon sausage motivated doggos.
