About this item

The Surefeed Microchip Pet Feeder is a microchip access controlled feeding bowl that means your cat's food stays their own. This allows the pet owner to easily monitor the amount of food each pet eats to prevent obesity or under-eating. It also allow cats to naturally graze throughout the day without the worry of their food being eaten or contaminated.

How the Surefeed Microchip Pet Feeder Works:

As your pet approaches the feeder, it recognises their microchip or RFID collar tag, only opening for them. It then automatically closes when the cat moves away, preventing all other animals and children gaining access to their food.

SUPERB Service!

Having waited for 4 weeks for delivery of a Microchip Pet Feeder to WA owing to rail line wash-aways on the Nullabor, VetnPetDirect offered to send a replacement feeder Express Post at no additional cost! When, a couple of weeks later, BOTH Feeder Bowls arrived within 5 minutes of each other, VetnPet provided a return fee-free postage label for the return of the extra bowl. My little red Burmese took to the new Feeder without hesitation and now happily feeds on-demand, much to the disapproval of my other 2 cats! HUGE thanks for such TOP Service!

Still waiting..

Ordered on 17 Jan, today on 13 Feb this STILL has not been received! Fault of AusPost who have it stuck in Parkes NSW or somewhere, pleading floods etc for failing to expedite to WA.. Have a pedigree kitten whose on-demand feeding is seriously affected by the lack of his own microchip bowl. Very disappointed..

Excellent solution

Purchased for our two cats due to one requiring a strict prescription diet and trying to eat the other cats food.
The feeders are easy to use and took about a week to train our cats to use them following the training settings on the feeders.

Definitely recommend the rear covers as the space at the back is large and easy for another cat to get food from the back. We bought the covers and they make it completely secure.

Solved multiple cat problems

Purchased 2 of these due to my older cat requiring a different diet due to health reasons. I can now leave the cats unattended, and feed them once a day. The feeders were super easy to calibrate, and the cats took to them straight away with no issues in figuring them out.

Amazing product

Works perfectly everytime. Only one thing. The description doesn’t say it includes a split bowl (unless I’m blind and I just don’t know how to read). So I bought a separate bowl set only because I wanted the split bowl. You do not need to make the same mistake I did.

Takes a little time but well worth it

With three cats, each developing their own dietary needs, I bought two units, crossing fingers it would work and it has.
Set up: really easy.
Training cats: Can take time so be patient, especially with skittish cats. The unit has stages and each cat responded a little differently. We are three weeks in and the two with feeders are now used to the lid moving when they step on the pad. Irony: the cat without a feeder took to it on day one, but he has food security issues so hardly surprising. My guess is it will take another 2-3 weeks for the other two to be fully comfortable with it.
Worth the initial outlay, I am really happy I tried it. The greater control over their diet will reduce (hopefully) vet visits. I will be getting a third in time.
Negatives: can't be run on rechargeable batteries (no idea why). Determined cats can access food from the back when unit is open, which they sell a guard for. Sized for cats under approx. 7kgs. I have a cat whose healthy weight is 6kg (yes, he is a unit, no he is not a specific breed) and while he can fit, there is not a lot of space. He wasn't phased, though so I guess its a cat by cat thing.

Great device

The microchip pet feeder works perfectly for a household with 2 pets to ensure they both get to enjoy their food if they eat at different paces! Its simple to setup and has a training feature to get your pet used to the feeder. The only problem we had with it was the cat that was used to eating 2 dinners wasn't pleased!

No more stealing

Love this feeder. It took a day for my kitty to work it out. The other cats still can’t figure out why they can’t get into it. So cool. They are all finally eating their own foods.

Keeps out unwanted cats but not unwanted ants.

Using with 7kg Ragdoll with mild anxiety. Took a few months to get him used to the device with his anxiety as he is a big cat and needs to get a good portion of his body under the arch for it to read the microchip, meaning he has to be fairly close to the moving door which scares him. He uses it relatively fine now making it easy to feed around a second greedy cat. It definitely does not provide a tight seal as ants are constantly in the food and inside the device. Hard to get ants out of the device but easy to clean bowls.

Works really well. It stops my big boy getting extra food and I know the girl is getting her own food. Very happy with this product.

Works so well!

When my older baby was diagnosed with stage 2 kidney disease, I had to put her on a separate diet to my two babies. Older baby can't eat protein rich biscuits, and one of the other two is less than 12 months old. So I bought two of these and the set up was super easy to manage. It took a little bit to get them adjusted to how to eat - but it didn't take long and now they all eat out of their own bowls. So good!

A truly wonderful product. A+++

With one cat that has severe food intolerance's and another extremely fussy cat, this product is fabulous. They each have their own food station that is theirs alone, no one is shut away in another room (meaning less stress for them), but most importantly, the one with food intolerance can't eat what he shouldn't, meaning less vet appointments.

Briana M.

Can we register more than one microchip to the feeder? Preferably 3?

vet-n-pet DIRECT

Hi Briana

Thank you for your Question.
It is recommended that each cat has its own Feeder. This is so you can monitor the amount that each cat is eating.
To answer your question, you can register up to 32 Pets for each feeder.
I hope that helps.

Cheers

Lisa
