MecWorma Paste is a broad-spectrum horse wormer designed to control a wide range of internal parasites, including strongyles, roundworms and bots. The convenient calibrated syringe makes it easy to dose horses accurately according to their bodyweight.

MecWorma should be administered orally at a dose rate of 200 mcg abamectin per kg bodyweight.

MecWorma and Tape Allwormer is a highly effective broad-spectrum anthelmintic for horses, achieving up to 100% worm kill, including benzimidazole-resistant strains. It combines two wormers from different classes, abamectin (a macrocyclic lactone) and morantel tartrate (a tetrahydropyrimidine), to provide reliable treatment and control of a wide range of internal parasites.

• Morantel Tartrate 167 mg

Abamectin and morantel tartrate are both broad-spectrum anthelmintics. In combination, they provide treatment and control of large and small strongyles, tapeworms, cutaneous onchocerciasis and nematodes, including Habronema and Draschia species that cause skin lesions (summer sores).

The recommended dose is 5.4 g of paste per 100 kg bodyweight.

• A full syringe (32.5 g) treats a 600 kg horse.
• The plunger is calibrated in 100 kg bodyweight increments, each delivering 5.4 g of paste.

To administer, adjust the locking ring to the required bodyweight setting and depress the plunger. Place the paste on the rear of the tongue and hold the horse’s head raised for a few seconds after dosing to ensure the full dose is swallowed.

Worma® Paste is a broad-spectrum oral paste wormer for horses of all ages. It provides reliable control of a wide range of stomach and intestinal worms and helps reduce pasture recontamination by sterilising worm eggs within 24 hours of administration. This makes it especially useful for horses entering new environments, such as mares being sent to stud or horses turned out for spelling.

• Oxfenbendazole 107.2 mg per g
• Piperazine (as dihydrochloride) 214.4 mg per g

Worma Paste provides superior control of:

• Large roundworms (Parascaris equorum) – adult and immature forms
• Pinworms (Oxyuris equi)
• Large strongyles (Strongylus spp.)
• Adult stomach hairworm (Trichostrongylus axei)
• Adult stomach worm (Habronema microstoma)
• Small strongyles (Cyathostomes)

It also kills tissue stages of Strongylus edentatus and assists in controlling migrating stages of Strongylus vulgaris, helping reduce associated arterial lesions.

Two doses given two days apart improve efficacy against migrating strongyles and can help reduce the risk of associated colic.

Dose according to bodyweight by setting the plunger ring to the required bodyweight on the syringe. The syringe is calibrated in 50 kg increments.

Each 56 g syringe contains enough Worma Paste to treat a 600 kg horse.

• Place the syringe on the back of the horse’s tongue (not between the teeth and cheek).
• Depress the plunger fully.
• Hold the horse’s head elevated and mouth closed until the dose is swallowed.

For enhanced efficacy against migrating strongyles, administer two doses two days apart.

Internal parasites can develop resistance to anthelmintics. To minimise resistance, use good pasture management practices and rotate between different classes of wormers.
