About this item

Anarchy Reptile Ceramic Heat Emitter creates a hot area in the reptile's enclosure. It increases the overall ambient air temperature and simulates the heat provided by the sun.

Heat Emitters should always be placed at one end of your reptile's enclosure to create a thermal gradient, allowing them to choose their ideal temperature.

It is recommended that all heat sources be used in conjunction with a thermostat to prevent your reptile from overheating.

My vet has told me to exchange a 50 watt basking globe for a comparative ceramic globe. Do I need a special fitting, what wattage should I buy, and does it screw in or have a baton fitting.
Can you also tell me the best two probe thermometer to purchase that is reasonably priced?

A comparative Ceramic Heat Emitter to the 50 watt basking globe would be a 40watt or 25watt. If the enclosure is glass, the 40watt would be better. If the enclosure is timber then the 25watt should be fine. It is also dependent on the size of your enclosure.
The Ceramic Heat Emitter has a screw fitting. If you have an enclosure with a baton fitting we do sell the screw fittings.

Hi, would these be safe to use in a guinea pig cage for winter ? I have Just purchased the snugglesafe ,but would also like a more topical solution .

Hi Sharyn,
I probably wouldn't be using it in a guinea pig cage, it would probably be unnecessary. I would suggest putting the guinea pig outside or near a window where they can get into some sunlight so they have more control over how hot they get. In general guinea pigs don't like getting too hot and if they have a good enclosure with good bedding and shelter they should be ok in cooler months. Move them inside if possible if the temperature is really cold.
