About this item

AMMO Allwormer Paste is a complete broad-spectrum wormer for horses that treats and controls roundworms, tapeworms, bots, and a wide range of internal parasites. It also helps prevent skin lesions caused by biting external parasite larvae, including Habronema and Draschia species. This makes it suitable for horses at all stages of life, including foals from four weeks of age, pregnant mares, stallions, and debilitated animals.

Active Ingredients (Composition):
  • Abamectin 4 mg/g
  • Morantel Tartrate 167 mg/g

How the Actives Work:
  • Abamectin binds to glutamate-gated chloride channels in parasites, causing paralysis and death.
  • Morantel Tartrate is a depolarising neuromuscular blocking agent that causes muscle contraction leading to paralysis of worms.

Treats and Controls the Following Parasites:
  • Tapeworms (Anoplocephala perfoliata)
  • Large strongyles: adult and larval stages of Strongylus vulgaris, adult and tissue stages of S. edentatus, adult S. equinus
  • Small strongyles including benzimidazole-resistant strains
  • Pinworms (adult and immature Oxyuris equi)
  • Roundworms (adult and immature Parascaris equorum)
  • Hairworms (adult Trichostrongylus axei)
  • Neck threadworms (Onchocerca microfilariae)
  • Bots: oral and gastric stages of Gasterophilus species
  • Lungworms: adult and immature Dictyocaulus arnfeldi
  • Intestinal threadworms (adult Strongyloides westeri)
  • Large-mouthed stomach worms (adult Habronema muscae)
  • Skin lesions caused by Habronema spp, Draschia spp cutaneous larvae (summer sores), and Onchocerca microfilariae

Dosage and Administration:

Each 32.5 g syringe is sufficient to treat one horse up to 600 kg bodyweight.

  • Dose horses according to bodyweight using the dial-a-dose syringe markings.
  • Foals and ponies: administer 5 mL per 100 kg bodyweight.
  • Safe for use in pregnant mares, foals over six weeks, and convalescent horses.

Worming Frequency:

Horses should be wormed every 6 to 8 weeks as part of a year-round parasite control program. Begin worming foals at approximately six weeks of age.

Ammo Allwormer is an effective option to rotate with other wormers to reduce the risk of developing worm resistance.
