Pack Size We Stock

Dosage & Administration

Give as a single oral dose. No fasting required. Always weigh your animal before dosing.

Species Bodyweight Tablets Approx. Dose
Dog 10 kg 1 tablet ~5 mg/kg
Cat 5 kg ½ tablet ~5 mg/kg

Standard dose: 5 mg/kg (dogs & cats). Dog = 1 tablet per 10 kg. Cat = ½ tablet per 5 kg.

Higher Dose for Zipper Tapeworm

If tapeworm segments continue to appear after standard treatment, they may be Spirometra. A higher dose (4× standard = 20 mg/kg; 1 tablet per 2.5 kg) is required—seek veterinary advice before using the high dose.

Treatment Frequency

  • Dogs in hydatid areas: Dose every 6 weeks and prevent access to raw offal or carcasses.
  • Other situations (dogs & cats): Dose every 3 months, or as directed by your vet.
  • Treat sooner if tapeworm segments are seen.

Safety

  • Non-toxic, non-irritant, non-purging at recommended doses.
  • Safe for puppies, kittens, pregnant & lactating females, older pets, working dogs and greyhounds.
  • May be given with most other parasite control products.

Important Use Notes

  • Droncit removes existing tapeworms but does not prevent re-infestation.
  • Control intermediate hosts: fleas, rodents, raw offal access, etc.
  • If worm problems persist, consult your veterinarian.
