Directions for Use

DIRECTIONS FOR USE:

Administer a single dose by mouth. Weigh dog to determine dosage, giving one (1) tablet per 10kg bodyweight, rounding up to the nearest tablet. Treatment is best given after a meal in the morning.

TREATMENT REGIMEN:

Hydatid tapeworm: Dogs should not be fed, or allowed to feed on, offal from any species. Dogs in hydatid area should be treated every 6 weeks

Other tapeworms: Treat every 3 months

Roundworm and hookworm: Treat at 2,4,8 and 12 weeks thereafter every 3 months 

Whipworm: treat every 6 to 8 weeks after 3 months of age.

Pregnant bitches: treat at mating, before whelping and then every 3 months.

Fenpral Allwormer for Small Dogs 10kg is dosed at 1 tablet per 10 kg of body weight, once every 3 months. Each tablet contains 50mg Praziquantel, 144mg Pyrantel Embonate, and 250mg Fenbendazole.

Being on the land we are continually worming something. With my big dogs I use Drontal and Fenphral and alternate. So far it has been very good. Sheep are harder so many worms and different drenches as they get resistant.

Weven used Fenpral on many occasions, its what our vets use. We do however swap between different wormers. Im please to be able to buy bulk as being a breeder it can become expensive to but smaller packets or individual wormers. Fenpral doesnt work

My dog has tapeworms, if the wromign tablets worked then i should see dead worms. A week after the tablet and every single poo has had live worms in it with no evidence to suggest it is reducing. Product doesnt work as advertised.

Hi Jamie, If you have given the correct dosage, then we strongly recommend taking your dog to see your vet. Resistance to the active ingredients in some wormers is possible (thus you will achieve a similar result regardless of the brand of wormer if the active ingredients are the same.). Its also possible that the tapeworms you are seeing are spirometra tapeworms which require a stronger dose. Your vet is best to guide you on this.

Just phoned my vet to ask about dosage of fenpral for my GR who up until now has received It quarterly. This time I was informed that fenpral is a treatment, not a preventative. Please confirm that it is correct that dosing every 3 mths doesn’t actually prevent worms (but it treats them if there are any)?

Thank you for your Question.

Your Vet has given you the correct information.

All Intestinal worming tablets etc are treatments not preventatives, they treat any worms that the dog may have picked up.
A good analogy is, they work like a house cleaner, they clean up any worms the dog may have picked up.
You need to worm Adult dogs every 3 month. Not only will this will treat and control your dog's adult worms, but it will break the reinfection cycle.
Puppies need to be wormed more often as they are at a higher risk of reinfection and illness because their immune systems are still developing.

Is fenpral product safe my caboodle small dog ? I have bottle of 100 x 10 kg tablets we use for our greyhounds. They get 3 to 4 tablets each . Can we give a tablet to our small dog caboodle

Yes the Fenpral is safe for your Caboodle.
You will need to dose at the rate of 1 tablet per 10kg.
If she is only 5kg or under she can just have 1/2 a tablet
