Great Supplement for Feeding Magpies and So Economical

I buy this to make up a mix I use to supplement feed my wild magpies to ensure they get enough calcium and don't develop rickets. Their chicks are at risk of broken or soft beaks and fragile bones when fed bread or mince by people who don't know what they're doing. This can lead to slow and painful death. I mix 2 1/4 tsp with 1 kg of minced meat (no preservatives), 70g Wombaroo Insectivore, 1/3 cup breadcrumbs, 75g Farex rice cereal, 1/2 - 1 cup grated cheese and 1 cup cooled boiled water. Mix thoroughly and divide into 100g bags and freeze. Another tip is storing left-over grated cheese in bags in the freezer which can then be used for this mix. More simply, you can just thoroughly mix in 1/4 tsp per 1/2 cup of mince to feed your birds. The large bags are so economical and last for ages.

Customer

I have a 34kg 20 month old greyhound recovering from a broken metacarpal bone 10 weeks ago and as he is recovering (rehab) wanted to give him a calcium supplement. I have purchased a 5kg bag of your Calcium Carbonate however the labeling does not have any feeding instructions 🤷‍♂️
I look forward to your earliest response 🙏🏻

Hi Mark

Thank you for your Question.

The Vetsense Calcium Carbonate is sold as a raw product.
It does not come with dose rates.
It's a bit like when you purchase flour from the shop, the dose depends on what you are using it for.
You would be best to contact your Vet or an Animal Nutritionist for dosage recommendations to suit your dogs specific needs.
I hope that helps

Cheers

Is this the same as calcium carbonate used for making chalk paint?
