Teats should resemble mothers in shape and length for mouth comfort, fit and correct tooth eruption. Marsupial teats get longer as the joey grows, so progression to longer teats is important. Individual carers will be able to decide which is the best for their individual animal.
Shapes and suggested uses below (scroll down to see a larger image of teat shapes):
STM - Small in-pouch kangaroos, wallabies, possums
MTM - In-pouch kangaroos, wallabies, koalas
TM - Out of pouch kangaroos and wallabies
FM - Out of pouch kangaroos, wombats, koalas
SD - Small dogs, possums, gliders
LD - Large dogs, possums, wombats, koalas
C - Cats, rabbits, carnivorous marsupials
F - Flying fox, some breeds of dog

DIRECTIONS FOR EUTHERIANS
This applies to all domestic animals including cats, dogs, rabbits, rats, guinea pigs, horses, alpacas, cows, sheep, pigs & deer. Also used for eutherian wildlife and zoo mammals.
Impact should be fed as soon as possible after birth, and preferably before milk is fed. Impact can be absorbed for upto 48 hours after birth, depending on the species. Weigh the animal and select the appropriate weight range from the chart. Mix the amounts of Impact powder and warm pre-boiled water to make the daily Impact requirement. Refrigerate prepared Impact for one day only or store frozen in ice cube trays for up to 1 month.
Do not mix or feed Impact with milk for Eutherians.
Newborns that have not received maternal colostrum or milk.
First 12 hours: Do not feed milk during this time. Prepare a daily dose of Impact as described above and feed 1/4 of the amount every 2 hours.
Next 36 hours: Commence feeding milk every 4 hours. Prepare a daily dose of Impact as described above and feed 1/4 of the amount every 4 hours. Feed Impact 2 hours after the first milk feed so that the remaining Impact feeds are mid way between the next milk feeds.
Newborns that have received some milk but no maternal colostrum.
First 12 hours: Stop feeding milk. Prepare a daily dose of Impact as described above and feed 1/4 of the amount every 2 hours.
Next 36 hours: Recommence feeding milk. Prepare a daily dose of Impact as described above and feed 1/4 of the amount mid way between milk feeds.
DIRECTIONS FOR MARSUPIALS
Marsupials are different in that they do not produce a colostral milk. Impact is added to marsupial milk because intestinal closure occurs later in marsupiaIs and immunoglobulins are present in milk for much of lactation.
Mix and feed Impact with milk for marsupials.
For very early lactation to mid lactation: Select the appropriate amount of Impact powder for body weight from the chart. Mix the powder into the required daily volume of milk and feed as usual. This procedure may be repeated for up to 5 days.
For late lactation: Select the appropriate amount of Impact for body weight from the chart and add this to the normal daily feed volume of milk. Repeat if required.

Calcium is "like gold" when it comes to breeding birds and raising healthy chicks. It is an essential nutrient for proper egg shell formation and bone growth in developing young.
However most seed mixes do not provide the calcium that birds require, so a dietary supplement may improve breeding success.
Additional calcium may affect the absorption of other minerals such as magnesium and manganese so these must be balanced with calcium intake.
Liquid Gold is a readily absorbable liquid that can be administered to water, food or orally to deficient birds.
Liquid Gold contains Calcium along with the following nutrients:
Vitamin D3 for the effective absorption of calcium from the gut.
Magnesium which is stored in the egg shell and utilised in the bones of growing chicks.
Manganese, a deficiency of which can lead to shell-thinning and skeletal abnormalities.
Lutein which is a naturally occurring carotenoid that provides antioxidant activity and the rich yellow colour in egg yolk.
DOSAGE:
In water:
Add 20mL per litre of drinking water.
In food:
Add 40mL per kg of soaked seed or soft food and mix well.
Individual bird dosage: 0.2mL per 100g body weight.

Key Features:
- Specifically formulated to match the composition of rabbit milk
- Elevated Protein & Fat Content - for improved growth rate of kits.
- Contains 'Milk Oil' - antimicrobial fatty acids that are essential for good gut health.
Success in hand-rearing rabbit kits greatly improves if they receive colostrum at birth. Kits that don't get colostrum from the mother can be fed Impact Colostrum Supplement. Commence feeding Rabbit Milk Replacer after the initial feeds of colostrum.
Making up Milk:
To make 1 litre of milk: Add 360g of powder to 700ml of warm water.
To make 80mls of milk: Add 30g of powder to 60ml of warm water.
Add half the water to the powder first and mix to a paste. Then add the remaining water and mix thoroughly.
Pre-boil the water to ensure it is sterilised. If the water is too hot it can cause the milk to curdle. If it is too cold then it will be difficult to disperse the powder.
Wombaroo contains elevated fat & protein levels, so the milk needs to be well mixed to prevent it from separating out. An electric whisk can be used for mixing larger quantities.
Milk can be stored in the fridge for up to a day or can be frozen for up to 2 weeks. It is useful to make-up larger quantities and store it frozen in small portions (eg ice cube trays), so that the required daily feed volumes can be easily thawed out. Once thawed out, discard any unused milk, and wash feeding utensils thoroughly.
Feeding:
Warm milk to about 35°C. Feed from a bottle with teat, a Wombaroo C Teat or Wombaroo P Teat is recommended. In emergency cases tube feeding may be required.
Rabbit milk is high in nutrient value and the young need only be fed twice a day (morning & evening). Allow kits to drink as much as they can at each feed. Stimulate kits to defecate and urinate after each feed. Kits may be encouraged to lap once their eyes are open and voluntary bowel motions begin.
To avoid dehydration during periods of hot weather give Kits a drink of pre-boiled water between feeds. Always offer kits drinking water once their eyes are open and they become mobile.
Consult your veterinarian or breeder for particular advice about caring for young rabbits.
Growth:
Different breeds of rabbits have different growth rates. Carers should contact their veterinarian or breeder for information about the growth rate of their particular breed. It is important to weigh kits regularly to verify weight gains and determine the volume of milk to feed. Overfeeding milk can cause diarrhoea so feed the suggested volumes in our tables.
Weaning:
Kits may begin to show interest in solid foods around 15 days of age. Ideally kits should be provided with caecotrophs (caecal pellets) from a healthy adult animal to help establish the correct gut flora prior to the consumption of solid foods. These could be mixed in with the milk.
Initially establish young rabbits solely on hay, and then gradually add some green leafy vegetables. Once they start to eat solid food continue to increase solids and reduce milk intake until they are fully weaned at around 5 to 6 weeks.
Avoid any foods containing high levels of starch or sugars (eg pellets, root vegetables or fruit) until fully weaned, and even then only as supplemental foods. Digestive upset due to incorrect feeding is a major cause of sickness and mortality in recently weaned rabbits.

ABOUT FEEDING INSECTS:
Insectivorous species kept in captivity usually lack the diversity and quality of a natural diet in the wild. Feeder insects are often maintained on nutrient-poor substrates (eg bran), which can lead to dietary deficiencies. Insects have no skeletal structure and are therefore a poor source of calcium.
IMPROVING INSECT NUTRITION:
By maintaining the live feeder insects on Insect Booster, the nutritional value of the captive diet is significantly enhanced. This provides a means of supplying essential amino acids, essential fatty acids (omega 3 & 6), vitamins, minerals and colour-enhancing carotenoids. Supplying nutritionally improved feeder insects maintained on Insect Booster is more effective than simply "gut-loading" insects raised on inadequate diets.
Test Results after using Insect Booster showed that calcium levels and the calcium to phosphorus ratio were significantly improved. This is a more effective method of supplying calcium than dusting insects with calcium powder. The levels of other minerals, vitamins and colour-enhancing carotenoids were also significantly improved.
DIRECTIONS FOR USE:
For best results, supply insect booster to the feeder insects for at least 14 days prior to feeding animals. Moisture should always be available to insects and can be supplied as a piece of wet sponge, fruit or vegetable.
Adult Insects (crickets & woodies): Supply Insect Booster as a dry powder in a shallow bowl or plate. Insect Booster is a complete diet and does not require other foods to be added.
Juvenile Insects (mealworms & fly pupae): Make a 50:50 mixture of Insect Booster with bran and supply as the substrate in which the pupae live.
Ingredients: Pollard, whey & soy proteins, methionine, vegetable oils, omega-3 & omega-6 fatty acids, vitamins, minerals & carotenoids.
SIZES: Available in 300g & 5kg.

What are essential fatty acids (EFAs)?
EFAs are the omega 3 & 6 components of fat that cannot be synthesized by the body and must therefore be supplied in the diet. Eggs contain over 25% unsaturated fat composed of oleic, omega 3 and omega 6 fatty acids. Seed mixes alone do not provide the EFAs that breeding birds require so dietary supplementation is important for improved breeding success.
The Good Oil contains the following EFAs and fat-soluble vitamins:
- Omega 3 & 6 fatty acids which are essential for egg-laying, chick growth and immunity.
- Vitamin A for cell development in the embryo.
- Vitamin D3 for absorption of calcium, bone growth and eggshell formation.
- Vitamin E which is an antioxidant and helps maintain cell membranes.
Contains:
Oleic Acid (omega 9) 380 g/litre
Linoleic Acid (omega 6) 350 g/litre
α-linolenic Acid (omega 3) 130 g/litre
EPA (omega 3) 15 g/litre
DHA (omega 3) 6 g/litre
Vitamin A 15 mg/litre
Vitamin D3 1 mg/litre
Vitamin E 2 g/litre

Key Features:
* Contains 20 vitamins & minerals in a water-soluble powder that are essential to the well-being of birds.
* Specially formulated to supplement birds when dietary intake is inadequate.
* Beneficial for breeding, growing or sick birds.
Boosting dietary intake of birds via the administration of a vitamin and mineral preparation is a common and useful practice. Multi-Vite for Birds should be used when a dietary vitamin and mineral supplement may be beneficial, for example:
* Breeding birds
* Birds maintained on a deficient, all-seed diet
* Sick or injured birds
* Racing pigeons in training.
Directions for Use:
Add to water, soaked seed or food preparations and mix in well. Prepare fresh daily. Store in a cool, dry place.
One Spoon = 1g Multi-Vite.
Dosage:
* In drinking water: Add 1g (1 spoon) per litre of water.
* In soaked seed & food preparations: Add 2g (2 spoons) per kg of food. Ensure that Multi-Vite for Birds is well mixed into food preparations
Note that all Wombaroo & Passwell bird foods contain adequate levels of vitamins and minerals, so the addition of a vitamin supplement to these products is not recommended. In particular, Vitamin A and D3 may be toxic to birds at high doses so care should be taken when adding Multi-Vite for Birds to food preparations where the level of vitamins is not known.
