About this item
Classic style halter (classic because it connects to the lead under the dog's jaw) and has been the Halter of choice for many trainers for the past several years. The dynamic design allows the Halter to move as the dog moves, leaving the nose bridge strap to sit comfortably in the same position. This means it doesn't tend to ride up close to the dog's eyes and the dog is more content while wearing the Halter.
Sizes:
Mini: Adjustable to fit neck from 20 to 35cm.
Small: Adjustable to fit neck from 27 to 37cm.
Medium: Adjustable to fit neck from 35 to 52cm.
Large: Adjustable to fit neck from 43 to 68cm.
XLarge: Adjustable to fit neck from 58 to 94cm
How to get the best fit for your dog:
The Noseband and Cords on the Training Halter allow for a large adjustment, so sizing is based on a dog's neck measurement
Use a soft tape measure place it around your dog's neck up close behind the ears, this is where the neck strap should fit and take a snug to tight neck measurement.
Check your dog's neck measurement against the list above, to select the appropriate size.
Important: If your dog fits between 2 sizes, generally select the smaller size, UNLESS you are fitting a growing dog in which case you might go for the larger size to allow for future growth.

I bought this as recommended by a trainer and was sceptical. I have tried different collars, halters and harnesses, but within a few seconds of putting it on I had a different dog, no more pulling my arm from the socket and now enjoying our walks. Highly recommend it.
I have 2 Akita x Staffy's who are extremely strong and love to run. These halters are the only product I have found that has stopped them from pulling. Finally I can walk both of them with confidence that I am not going to be pulled over if they decide to run.
Side note - The dogs don't love it, but with consistent use they are use to it and not as bothered.
I bought 2 of the black dog halters about 10 years ago and they have just given out now from wear. So now I am ordering 2 more.
The halter we purchased has been great at solving our 7 month Great Dane of pulling whilst walking her.
Also the shipment was reasonable considering the current transport difficulties.
The only issue we have is that she is going to have grow out of the Medium size that we ordered. It is very hard to know sizing when on-line ordering.

Purchased the black dog wear training halter.
I have two 4 year old beagles who love to pull when walked. We tried the harness with no luck , they hated it and they would use their paws to pull it off.
Possibly if used when they were younger it may have been ok
Will have to look for another product.
Love black dog training halters . I’m involved with a dog obedience club and we recommend these as they are the easiest to put on and stop owners being pulled over and don’t hurt the dog .
We only recommend this brand as people have turned up with other brands and they are too hard to put on . Still waiting to be notified when black ones are available.
Loved it in that dog walked beautifully with a slack lead by third walk. Amazing considering she always pulled. Major downside was it lasted five days before she chewed through the shoestring..
My girl is much more comfortable and happier to have it placed on her as I put the collar part on then just lift over her nose. She dosnt feel like she’s being locked in.
My 8mth old schnoodle was pulling on our walk all the time and got super excited when he saw other dogs - and I have a 5mth old pup too, so I dreaded the walks. I used to detest these type of harness/halti but now I see the value - as our walks are so much better, not perfect but he is still young - so I am very pleased with it!
Was wonderful but when our 12 year old took him out he chewed through the thin cord below his chin, he always tries to do this but I stop him, this was only the 3rd time we had used it so I was very disappointed as I am unable to repair it.
I had one years ago with my previous dog.
I've since purchased two inferior brands that broke in no time. This leader is good quality and I believe will last my dogs lifetime.
This broke within the first week and black dog wouldn’t replace it. It needs to be re enforced as shoe laces are never going to hold. The idea is great and it works but the quality is terrible.
I did email the company directly and they denied the harness was at fault and refused to replace it. They said they could fix it but I would have to pay to have this done.
They did ask me to send a second email and they never responded.
Very poor product and company.
