Training Collars were Black Dog's first ever product. They were designed for training without the harshness and pain of a chain choker. Nowadays, the training collar is generally used more as a security collar because of the non-slip security of a martingale design - the design helps prevent dogs slipping out of their collar.
Careful consideration to design of the collar, components and choice of materials in relation to the size of dog, has enabled Black Dog Wear to produce a highly effective Training Collar that is robust and looks great.

The way we measure the collars also changed, now we measure the collar with the tightening loop fully extended, so it more clearly matches a neck size on a dog

The collar was recommended by a friend so I bought one and also a lead. I am so happy wih them I bought another set for my second beagle. I feel it's so much safer than a normal collar which I have to have a bit tight to make sure they can't slip their collars.

Fantastic collar for my Patterjack
I can highly recommend this dog tracing collar, it solved a big problem with my dog. He was walking backwards and slipping his collar...very scary when I was on a busy road.
Great for training as it is firm but gentle on the dogs neck. This purchase was to replace the same collar which lasted about 4 years on my male Dalmatian who is a puller and was worn every day.
Hi, I have an 18month old male Kelpie. I have measured his neck which is 40cms would a medium fit him or should I get a large?

Thank you for your question.
Without seeing your dog, I think the large would be the better option.
He may still fill out a bit around the neck.
You don't want the collar to be too tight.
If it turns out to be too large you are welcome to return it for a refund. It just needs to come back in a new and unused condition with tags still attached.

XLarge: 53cm to 79cm. 20mm wide.

Your dog would most likely fit into a small.
Please measure and compare on the following sizing guide:
XSmall: 25cm to 35cm. 12mm wide.
Small: 25cm to 35cm. 20mm wide.
Medium: 32cm to 41cm. 20mm wide.
Large: 40cm to 54cm. 20mm wide.
XLarge: 53cm to 79cm. 20mm wide.
