About this item

Composition: Fenbendazole 100 g/L.

Panacur 100 Oral Anthelmintic for Cattle and Horses attacks the mature and immature stages of the following worms:

Cattle: barbers pole worm, hair worm or small hair worm, small brown stomach worm including hypobiotic larvae, small intestinal worm, whipworm, lungworm and hookworm; aids in the control of tapeworm in cattle.

Horses: mature and immature large strongyles, small strongyles, ascarids, pinworms and Strongyloides westeri. Safe to use in pregnant animals and stud mares.

Presentation: 1 L, 5 L.

Dosage:
Cattle - 3.75ml/50kg bodyweight.
Horses - 5ml/50kg bodyweight ( 10ml/20kg for S. westeri) as an oral drench.

Withholding Period:
Meat: Cattle: 14 days; Horses: 28 days.
Milk: Nil.
Export Slaughter Interval: 14 days

We used it on our vets advice for a rotational wormer. We used apple purée to help thicken it and get down the liquid. Very economical, $8-9 per 600 kg horse.

The only small issue I had was that one horse out of the six I used it on had diarrhea for 24 hours after use. I used this product to ensure my horses don't develop resistance to one product and intend to continue using it for 12 months before changing again.

How much panacur wormer do you give to pigs

Using the Panacur 100 on Pigs is off label use.
You will need to check with a Vet if it can be safely used off label and at what dose rate.

Hi guys, it is quite a big dose for a 500kg horse - 50ml. Do you have any trouble administering it, its a lot of liquid.

Hi Ann,
Yes unfortunately it is a large volume to administer and it will really depend on your horse whether they will tolerate it or not. Being a liquid I do find it easier for the horse to spit out or it kind of runs out of their mouths where as pastes are sticky and harder for them to spit out. Most paste wormers are a 30ml dose for an 500kg horse but there are a few other liquid wormers like Imax Gold that are only a 10ml dose.
