About this item

Popantel Allwormer Tablets for Dogs are designed for the control of Roundworm, Whipworm, Hookworm, Tapeworm and the Hydatid Tapeworm in dogs.

Popantel Dosage and Treatment Frequency for Dogs:

Give one tablet per 10kg bodyweight. Dosage should be rounded up to the nearest quarter tablet.

Roundworms and Hookworms: Treat at 2, 4, 8 and 12 weeks of age and then every 3 months.

Whipworms: Treat every 6 to 8 week after 3 months of age.

Pregnant and lactating bitches: Treat at mating, before whelping and then every 3 months.

Hydatid Tapeworms: Dogs in hydatid areas should be treated every 6 weeks. Dogs should not be fed offal from any species.

Other Tapeworms: Treat every 3 months, and treat your dog regularly to control fleas.

Pack size: 4 tablets.

Swapped to Popantel as my dogs sensitive stomach reacted after a year on Endogard. Vet pet direct is great value for any dogs essentials. Just double check with them the expiry date is over a year, as 1 pack is a years supply

Same tablet that my vets have always given me - at a fraction of the price. The tablets are quite large, however my small maltese swallows them down if covered in peanut butter. You can also crush them and put them into food.

Cheap alternative to Drontal. I have a toy poodle with a sensitive stomach, Drontal causes him to vomit. Had no problem with popantel. Tablets are quite big. He only needed 1/2 a tablet, but it needed to be cut and given in 2 doses.No vomiting problems. Best price I've found for Popanel is vet-n-pet direct

Hi, what would happen if I gave my 6.5kg dog a whole tablet instead of 3/4? Would there be any long-term side effects?

Thank you for your Question.

Rest assured your 6.5kg dog will be fine if he/she has had a whole tablet.
We recommend dogs 5-10kg have the full tablet.
Its usually easier to give 1 tablet rather than 1/2 and 1/4.
There is a large safety margin.
There would be no long term side effects.

I have 2 Great Danes (60kg and 55kg). Does this product come in larger dosage tablets or do I need to give them 6 tablets each?

The Popantel Allwormer tablets only come in a 10kg size tablet.
We do have the drontal, cazitel, aristopet large dog and canine allwormer tablets that come in a larger tablet.
