At wits end , flies making my horse legs bleed and he is hetting very irritable, will Tuff rock applied to his legs help 😊

vet-n-pet DIRECT

Hi Janine

Thank you for your Question.

You could try the Tuffrock Poultice, it goes on like a clay so it may act as a physical barrier between the skin and the flies.
It is not designed to be used as a fly repellent and has no label claims.
It may soothe any irritation caused by the flies.
Have you tried using the Absorbine UltraShield Insecticide & Repellent.

I am using this one on my horse at the moment and I think it is helping.

Good luck with the flies, they are quite vicious at the moment.

Is this product okay to use on wither wound... thank you.

vet-n-pet DIRECT

Hi Nan

Thank you for your question.
Yes, you can use the Poultice on a wither wound. You can use it on any part of the horse.
It can be applied daily if you needed. You can either wash or slick the previous application off.
If the wound is a bit mucky please wash with Betadine before applying the poultice. If infected you need to seek Veterinary advice.
Cheers

I feed tuffrock conditioner to my horse, I also put it on an old wound and it seems to have taken the thickness down. Does this work the same as tuffrock poultice for an old injury?

vet-n-pet DIRECT

Hi Faye

Thank you for your question.
The Tuffrock Conditioner is designed as an oral supplement that you add to feed. The Tuffrock Poultice is designed as a poultice that is applied topically.
You may need to contact Tuffrock directly. I am unable to give off label advice sorry.

I hope that helps
