Use in quarantine tank only....KILLS beneficial bacteria

Love multi cure because it works but I learnt the hard way that it also kills beneficial bacteria and can break the cycle in your tank!

Disoc Tank

I saw that my goldfish had white spot, and i panicked as I have never had fish suffering with white spot. Not knowing what to I found this product after a google search. I only wish the product discription had of said how much needed to be used, as i ended up buying the biggest bottle when i didnt need that much. I had to give my tank two treatments and the fish seem much better. I did lose a couple but that could have been becuase it was too late for them. So the product discription could be updated to give dosage insturctions and also advise that treatment will turn your tank BRIGHT green for a day. Very cool as a party trick, but worrying if you are not expecting it.

Hello, I have 2 Oscar fish in my tank. One has developed hole in the head disease. I think it is because my heater was off for a week.
I have done a water change and then treated the water twice with Multicure 3 days apart with a water and filter change in between.
It seems to have cleared it up a little but it is still present.
Do you suggest treating it again with the Multicure of would you use Metronidazole next?
Thanks for your help. JO

Hi Joanna

Thank you for your question.

I would separate the two Oscars. Oscars can be very aggressive, you may have one bullying the other one.
The primary cause of hole in the head disease is stress. Stress in fish can be caused by many different environmental conditions, including water quality, diet, aggression, space and other causes.

If the Multicure has not cleared it up fully I would treat with the Metronidazole.
According to fish forums the best treatment for hole in the head is the Metronidazole, this is a prescription medication you will need to get from your Veterinarian

I hope that helps

Cheers
