L-lysine is an essential amino-acid not synthesized by animals, and must be supplemented to correct deficiencies.
L-lysine supplementation is reported to reduce symptoms of FHV-1 virus in cats and kittens.
An Australian study of respiratory diseases in cats reported 21.2% positive for FHV-1.
Published reports on L-lysine supplementation in cats and kittens:
Oral administration of 500 mg L-lysine twice daily was well-tolerated and resulted in less severe manifestations of conjunctivitis caused by FHV-1 compared with cats that received placebo treatment.
L-lysine at 250 mg twice daily reduced viral shedding. Although there is a lack of controlled studies, it is believed this dose of L-lysine helps reduce chronic and recurrent clinical symptoms of FHV-1.
For symptoms of FHV-1 L-lysine 500 mg, orally 12 hours is recommended.

L-lysine is an essential amino-acid important for the development and maintenance of body functions and the immune system.It is not synthesized by animals and it must be available in dietary constituents or orally supplemented. It is important to supplement cats and kittens with respiratory and FHV-1 symptoms.
Directions for Use:
Each mL contains 250 mg/mL L-lysine in a palatable oral supplement for cats and kittens. The suspension may be applied to the paw, where it can be licked off; directly into the mouth, or alternatively onto food. Administer twice daily or as directed by a veterinarian.
SIZE:
100 mL tube
Squeeze the tube gently to dispense a 2 cm strip of paste approximately equivalent to 1 mL of product. After each use cap the tube to preserve the paste and prevent contamination.

The Lysine paste seems to be well tolerated by all my cats. It helped the kitten with severe flu symptoms recover in a small amount of time. Very effective. Highly recommend this product.
My female cat has cat herpes and constantly coughing and sneezing and been to the vets a million times and wasted a lot of money and time without any results and countless medications. The product itself has a low medication smell and tiny fish smell and they are more tolerable of this in their food or as I administer it via a syringe twice a day. The sneezing and coughing comes and goes. I’m on my second tube and will continue for a very long time.

This stuff is a life saver. My cat gets reoccurring cat flu and definitely has saved us trips to the vet. She loves the taste & her symptoms are gone within a few days.
Unfortunately my cat only had one taste and then wasn’t interested in it anymore. It was worth a try but didn’t work for us.
Struggled with my adopted cat’s stomatitis since I got him. After stumbling across a blog of a cat owner recommending the lysine, I found this product— its working wonders! Drooling less (nearly stopped!), cleaning himself more, and playing more! The poor thing must have been in so much pain before. I’ll be ordering again
Am not sure if it works and am not sure if I'm giving kitty the correct quantity. It says to give 1ml for Kitty's size but how can I measure this paste? I can't put it in a syringe 💉 because of the bottle design (squeezes like a ketchup bottle) so a 2cm strip can be thin or thick. I gave it 4 stars because maybe it works. It lost a star ⭐ because it's not possible to measure the correct quantity.
Good service ......My vet recommended Lysine for our cat who was constantly sneezing ( I believe had the cat flu). In the beginning there was a few hiccups in the administration process as I tried placing it on her paw but t promptly fell on the floor. I did this because she is such a finicky eater and when I mixed it in her food she wouldn't eat it but I persevered and she is no longer sneezing .
iI am very happy with the product and highly recommend it.
My FIV+ cat needs a boost of vitamins and minerals to help his compromised immune system. This lysine paste is palatable and I squirt some on top of my hand twice a day and he licks it off. He really likes the taste. I recommend this product along with a healthy good diet.
My vet recommended L Lyseine for my cats sneezing and coughing so I tried this product and the results were instant from first dose which I mixed in his wet food also his breath much fresher, very happy and will continue to use
My 9 month old kitten who is a rescue kitten is thriving. She has the herpes virus so we give her Lysine Paste and Nutri Gel to ensure that she always has as strong an immune system as possible. She is beautiful and healthy, except for a watery eye sometimes, and we hope to keep her that way.
It’s a really good product especially having a Persian that has issues as a kitten with cat flu. Keeps immunity up
I use Lysine in conjunction with Nutri Gel, to keep my fur kids boofed up with vitamins, and help give their immune system extra help.
