Directions for Use

Horses: 15g (one scoop) in the feed night and morning when required, OR 30g (two scoops) as a single dose after hard work or racing.

Greyhounds: 5g (one teaspoon) in the feed morning and night OR 10g as a single dose after hard work or racing.

PRECAUTIONS:
This product should not be administered in conjunction with sulphonamides. Adequate clean drinking water should be available at all times.

Hardocks KA Cleans and Flushes is a time-honoured effective diuretic and kidney antiseptic for horses and greyhounds.

Used by professional horsemen in Australia for half a century, signs like thick, cloudy, smelly urine or puffy hind legs mean it's time to bring out KA Cleans and Flushes. Horsemen also know that like any filter, kidneys function better when clean. It is not necessary to use KA Cleans and Flushes every day, mainly after fast work or racing.

KA Cleans and Flushes assists the blood clearing action of kidneys by increasing the volume and flow of urine. A reliable diuretic action removes toxins from the body by stimulating thirst and increasing the volume of urine passed. It acts to flush the body of harmful compounds accumulated during exercise.

As an antiseptic, it acts by effectively cleansing the urinary tract to reduce the risk of low grade bladder infection cystitis. Great for the oldies in winter when they get tucked up from not drinking as much. I use it on geldings mostly, whom are in rehabilitation from illness or starvation or a yeast infection from too much grain.

Hi, I have a mare that looks a bit puffy around the kidney area,I think her kidneys need a flush out,she is a dressage horse, is it ok if the horse is not worked to use the cleans and flushes, and how often can you use it. thanks Robyn.

I have been in contact with the Technical Vet at the Manufacturer.
They have said:

KA Cleans and Flushes is often fed to horses not in work.

KA Cleans & Flushes is a mild diuretic and urinary antiseptic that assists the blood clearing action of kidneys by increasing the volume and flow of urine, and acts to “flush” the body of harmful compounds accumulated during exercise. As an antiseptic, it acts by effectively cleansing of the urinary tract to reduce the risk of low-grade bladder infection ‘cystitis’. Thus, K.A. CLEANS & FLUSHES ™ assists in promoting the action of the kidney, helping to increase urinary flow to eliminate problems such as ‘oedema’ of the lower limbs, which often occurs in horses on high grain diets after hard work or racing. The indications for the use of K.A. CLEANS & FLUSHES ™ can include smelly urine, thick urine or orange/ darkish urine, or cloudy, ‘gritty’ urine.

KA Cleans & Flushes is labelled for use after hard work or when indicated to improve flushing of the kidneys with administration into feed in the first feed after work and/or in the morning and night feed. KA Cleans and Flushes is commonly administered for up to 2 days and then as required e.g. once per week (if indicated).

It can be dependent on why you are using it.
Horses: 15g (one scoop) in the feed night and morning when required, OR 30g (two scoops) as a single dose after hard work or racing.

You would be best to discuss with your Vet for your particular situation.

Can I make this into an oral paste and syringe into mouth as my horse is a fussy eater...Or is there a liquid product you recommend

Yes you can mix it as a paste and syringe it into the horses mouth.
Syringe it into the back of the mouth onto the back of the tongue
