Restore Paste is a carefully formulated electrolyte supplement designed to match the composition of sweat.

When horses sweat they lose electrolytes, with the principal losses being chloride, sodium, potassium and magnesium. If these essential nutrients are not replenished, the consequences may include conditions such as dehydration, muscular weakness, overheating, fatigue, and poor performance. The composition of Restore Paste mimics that of horse sweat so it replaces what has been lost from sweat.

Restore Paste is an easy-to-administer buffered paste. Using the same proven mixture of ingredients found in Restore as a foundation, Restore Paste includes a buffering agent that supports gastrointestinal comfort in horses.

USES:

• For routine or strategic electrolyte replacement for all horses that sweat
• To supply potassium to hard-working horses
• Easy-to-administer oral paste

DIRECTIONS FOR USE:
Administer one tube (60g) after strenuous performance activity. One tube of Restore Paste provides an equivalent amount of electrolytes as 30g of Restore.

For best results, administer Restore Paste after competition, work or in any situation where the horse sweats. In addition to Restore Paste, all horses should have access to a salt block or additional loose salt.

Collovet is a restorative and appetite stimulant. It is formulated to provide those essential elements most often lacking in an animal recovering from illness or subjected to severe bodily exertion caused by intense or prolonged exercise, high standards of production or performance.

Collovet is an extremely palatable water soluble liquid manufactured in Australia by Ruth Consolidated Industries Pty Ltd. It is readily accepted by all animals, increasing mental alertness and capacity for muscular work. It is most useful where animals are suffering from performance or handling stress and where they are off their feed or suffering from "training off syndrome" or recovering from illness.

It is especially helpful during intensive training programmes to maintain progressive conditioning or to assist in overcoming post-competitive fatigue or to promote "bloom" in show animals.

• Stimulates appetite
• Improves nervous "tone" in animals undergoing training, schooling or racing.
• Improves capacity for muscular work
• Conditions animals for show or sale and promotes a healthy bloom to the coat.
• Keeps animals eating and keeps them growing. Especially helpful where animals are off feed and racing horses and racing camels are “training off”.

WHAT DOES COLLOVET CONTAIN?

Active Ingredients: Potassium glycerophosphate - 24.0g/L ;
Ferric ammonium citrate - 23.0g/L; Sodium glycerophosphate - 21.8g/L;
Caffeine citrate - 12.0g/L;
Manganese sulphate - 2.2g/L; Thiamine hydrochloride- 0.2g/L

HOW DOES COLLOVET WORK?

High performance animals are subjected to many small stresses often overlooked, but which when combined, often have a serious effect on performance.
To counteract these performance restraints Collovet contains 7 key elements:

1. STOMACHICS which stimulate the gastric juices and help get the performance animal back on its feed.

2. IRON - a source of organic complexed iron to help build up haemoglobin levels in the blood stream and increase the supply of oxygen to the muscles.

3. STIMULANT - which increases the activity of the central nervous system and gives the performance animal a sense of well being and improves the muscular efficiency.

4. POTASSIUM AND SODIUM - to help replace body metabolites which can become deficient under stress of racing, eventing, polo, endurance or heavy training.

5. ORGANIC PHOSPHORUS - helps in the transfer of energy to muscles.

6. B COMPLEX VITAMINS - in natural form - to convert carbohydrate to energy and help tone up the nervous system, leaving the performance animal alert not flighty.

7. VITAMIN B1 improves appetite and helps calm the racing animal.

WARNING: COLLOVET contains Caffeine. If used in performance animals, the regulations of the relevant authorites should be observed.

WHEN SHOULD I USE COLLOVET?

Hard conditioning of racing and performance animals usually induces a condition of mental as well as physical stress. Collovet is designed to assist in overcoming or minimising this stress. It should be used when any of the following occur:

PERFORMANCE STRESS caused by hard training and racing. Typical symptoms include - "off feed" or "training off" syndrome, depression, listlessness and general unwillingness.

HANDLING STRESS such as transport, extremes of weather, heat and humidity, handling, confinement, not enough rest and accidents.

SICKNESS STRESS. Collovet can be used as supportive therapy, to improve appetite and assist recovery and promote bloom. During periods of post-operative and general convalescence Collovet will hasten recovery and ensure more normal functioning.

AS A DIETARY ADJUNCT to promote appetite, to improve growth rates and offset losses in production due to unthriftiness, lack of vigour and debility.

AS A MILD STIMULANT Especially helpful for young animals which are weak and undersized at birth and prove difficult to rear.

AS A RESTORATIVE used as supportive tonic therapy in association with more specific therapy used for the treatment of troublesome and non specific persistent conditions.

NOTE COLLOVET IS NOT A SUBSTITUTE FOR APPROPRIATE VETERINARY THERAPY.

COLLOVET is an extremely palatable tonic and is readily accepted by all animals.

HOW DO I ADMINISTER COLLOVET?

Collovet is a water soluble liquid which can be dosed in the drinking water, milk, feed or drenched. Collovet is highly palatable and well accepted by animals of all ages. Used as directed, it does not cause digestive upsets, nausea or vomiting. Collovet should be administered each day for at least 5-10days, depending on the level of response required.

During heavy training, give Collovet to prevent the racing animal going off feed. After racing, give Collovet to aid speed of recovery.

DOSE:
Depends on the live weight of the animal.

Recommended Dosage:

30 ml per 100kg liveweight or 15ml per 50kg liveweight. Give half the dose in the morning and half in the evening.

Continue for a minimum of 5-10 days depending on the response required.

WARNING IF USING ON ANIMALS DUE TO RACE CHECK WITH YOUR RELEVANT RACING AUTHORITIES TO DETERMINE WITHDRAWAL TIMES.

WHEN DO I NEED TO WITHDRAW COLLOVET?

WARNING: because COLLOVET contains caffeine it is subject to racing rules in many jurisdictions. Users are warned to abide by their respective Racing Authority's rulings and to check the warning on the label.

What is BetaCALM Paste?

BetaCALM Paste is a fast acting, effective and convenient supplement specially formulated for nervous, hot or stressed horses. Each BetaCALM Paste contains a unique formulation containing the optimal level of Tryptophan plus four herbal ingredients to enhance the calming effect.

For longer term calming use BetaCALM Powder.

How does BetaCALM work?

BetaCALM Paste is a combination of natural herbs and the optimal level of L-Tryptophan, which can be used to create a calming effect in horses that are nervous, excited or stressed.

• Tryptophan: An essential amino acid that stabilises the horse’s mood for a less excitable temperament. Tryptophan is not produced naturally by the horse and beneficial levels are not provided in feed. Tryptophan is converted in the body to serotonin, which helps to induce a feeling of calmness.
• Black Cohosh: A herbal extract commonly associated with mild relaxation in periods of stress or anxiety.
• Passion Flower: A herbal extract that supports a calm and relaxed disposition.
• Hops: This herbal extract contains several nutrients including volatile oils, tannins, flavonoids, organic acids, vitamins, minerals and trace elements. Often recommended as a tool against anxiety and stress, hops has a calming effect.
• Ginger Root: Is believed to aid in the availability of dietary nutrients for digestion and metabolism and to facilitate the utilisation of available energy resources, thus soothing the horse.

Remember, there are many factors that can cause undesirable behaviour in horses including diet, age, training, housing, pain and digestive conditions. It is best to discuss your horse’s diet and history to determine whether changes in feeding and management of practices are also required to reduce anxious behaviour. To help manage nervous horses, try providing constant access to forage, small meals and reduce starch/sugar in the diet. Also, decreasing stable time and providing equine company is very beneficial for mental health.

Long term behaviour problems are frequently associated with digestive conditions. In this case, use Kelato’s GastroAID Recovery.

• BetaCALM Paste is designed to be mixed in the horse’s feed.
• Dial the syringe to provide a 10mL per 500kg horse.
• Give 1 hour prior to a stressful event.

Designed to be fixed to the stable wall, the Tongue Twister is ideal for less adventurous horses, or where space is at a premium.

* Multi-directional movement

* Ability to make more challenging by using one Little Likit at a time

* Able to use different flavours at the same time

Challenge Level : Medium

Instructions for Use:

1. Securely fasten your Tongue Twister to the wall as instructed on the box

2. The centre of the ball should be level with your horse or pony's withers (incorrect positioning may result in increased consumption rates)

3. To remove the Little Likit pots, simply use a pair of pliers to grip the side of the empty pot and pull to remove

Top Tips:

1.Introduce the toy to your horse slowly, by firstly allowing them to lick the refill from your hand, then from inside the toy. Finally hang the toy and hold steady, they will soon get the idea

2. Try inserting different flavours on each side of the ball to make things more interesting

3. To slow intake levels, try using one Little Likit at a time, gravity will pull the treat downwards making them work harder for their reward

4. To encourage a nervous horse to play try smearing molasses on the ball
