About this item

Adaptil is a synthetic copy of the natural appeasing pheromone that puppies are exposed to after birth when feeding from their mother. Adaptil helps treat and prevent fear and stress related behaviours that result in:

  • Destruction, house soiling
  • Vocalisation (whimpering, whining)
  • Anxiety
Adaptil is designed especially for dogs, is odourless, non-sedative and can be used alongside all types of medication.

Adaptil Transport Spray is convenient and easy to use for on-the-go and targeted applications.

Adaptil Spray can be sprayed directly on bedding, inside crates, indoor kennels or in the car. Spray 8 to 10 pumps 15 minutes before the dog is introduced into the environment. Effects should last approximately 1to 2 hours. Renew application after this time or if you notice a reduced effect.

Adaptil

Adaptil will NOT cure your dog of its fear of cars or walking the street; desensitisation and counterconditioning while wearing an Adaptil-sprayed doggy bandana or on your pants at nose height - WILL.

It gets used at vets, groomers and boarding kennels regularly (if they’re good) in different forms-(diffuser/collar/spray), with great success at mellowing out SEPARATION anxiety related behaviours such as whining, pacing, panting or howling.

I’ve used it on every puppy I’ve had, for helping fear periods not present as extreme, and adult dogs in various circumstances. It helps greatly, but in no way would you spray it and think “WOW MAGIC! my dog loves the thing they’ve hated for so long!” That would be the definition of naive, and if such a product existed, dog trainers would be out of business very fast.

We use it on our boy mostly for vet trips on a bandana, but had the diffuser, collar and spray round the clock during his upbringing which has chilled him right out as he matured. In conjunction with a calming supplement wet-mixed in his kibble, we couldn’t have a calmer dog if we tried.

Do the work on your dog. Don’t expect ANY 1 product to fix deep-rooted behavioural issues or lack of training on your part.

Didn’t work for my pup,

Adaptil Spray

This has made no difference to my dog's anxiety when out walking the streets.
