VITAMIN C (Ascorbic acid) INJECTION provides Vitamin C supplementation.
VITAMIN C is essential to normal joint cartilage maintenance and repair.
VITAMIN C acts to reduce stress and improves cardiovascular function.
How Does It Work?
Vitamin C is an essential coenzyme in certain metabolic processes particularly in the metabolism of the amino acids Tyrosine and Phenylalanine collagen synthesis in ligaments tendons and joint cartilage synthesis of L-Carnitine red blood cell formation and modulating immune responses as well as in the maintenance of healthy skin. It is also essential in the conversion of Folic acid and in promoting the absorption of Iron from the gut. Vitamin C has a role in the metabolism of certain steroid hormones and high levels of Vitamin C are found in the Adrenal gland in times of stress.
VITAMIN C has a major role as a potent antioxidant to remove toxic free radicals produced during hard physical exercise.
VITAMIN C is critical and essential in the maintenance and repair of joints and joint cartilage synthesis of collagen proteoglycans and other joint components tooth bone skin and blood vessel maintenance and in the healing and repair of wounds burns and fractures.
Vitamin C is essential in the synthesis of L-Carnitine.
Like the B Complex vitamins Vitamin C is water soluble and is not well stored in the body. It is rapidly absorbed and equally as rapidly excreted so must be supplemented on a regular basis.
Horses are able to synthesise Vitamin C in normal circumstances but failure of liver enzyme systems can initiate a deficiency.
Key Features & Benefits:
* VITAMIN C is a major antioxidant to neutralise free radicals.
* VITAMIN C enhances tissue healing and growth.
* VITAMIN C improves immune function and acts as an antiinflammatory agent.

What is BiotinMAX CONCENTRATE?
BiotinMAX CONCENTRATE is an ultra-concentrated biotin supplement to support horses with poor hoof quality.
How does BiotinMAX CONCENTRATE work?
Biotin is a B vitamin essential for many functions in a horse’s body, including metabolism of carbohydrates, fats and proteins, cell proliferation, normal thyroid and adrenal gland function, reproductive tract health, and nervous system stability. Biotin contains sulphur, an element required for the formation of the reinforcing bonds between strands of collagen, and therefore plays a role in maintaining the health of the skin and hooves.
BiotinMAX CONCENTRATE supplies biotin at levels shown by scientific studies to improve hoof strength and integrity. Researchers have found normal blood levels of biotin in horses with poor quality hoof horn, so unhealthy hooves are not a result of deficiency. However, despite normal blood levels horses responded to megadoses of biotin given orally. Research has indicated that supplementation with 20mg of biotin per day for at least nine months decreased the incidence of hoof cracks, less crumbling of the hoof horn, and greater tensile strength.
Remember, you can only try to encourage better growth from the coronary band down and BiotinMAX CONCENTRATE will help to improve the growth of the new hoof horn, not the existing hoof.
When do they need it?
- Horses with weak, brittle or cracked hooves
- Recovery from seedy toe or laminitis
- Horses on high grain, low forage diets
- Horses on long-term antibiotic treatment
- Senior horses with poor hindgut function

How Does Sootha Work?
Scientific literature indicates that deficiencies of B-group vitamins and magnesium can lead to symptoms including excitability, muscular twitching, diarrhoea and muscle stiffness. Vitamin B6 deficiencies have been reported to produce neurological abnormalities resembling epilepsy. Feeding these nutrients to horses helps restore normal nervous function and produce a soothing effect.
Tryptophan has also been shown to be effective as a mood stabiliser, particularly in conjunction with magnesium and vitamin B6. Even horses whose diets do not lack these nutrients may show reduced symptoms of stress when their diets are supplemented with SOOTHA NERVES & STRESS.
Stress has an immediate effect on horses' intestines, increasing the rate food passes through, reducing the ability to digest food and leaving the gut more susceptible to infection by harmful bacteria (which often cause scouring and diarrhoea). SOOTHA NERVES & STRESS contains ProN8ure (formerly known as Protexin) which floods the intestine with millions of beneficial gut bacteria to restore the correct balance while countering harmful pathogenic organisms.
SOOTHA NERVES & STRESS works to overcome both the causes and effects of stress in horses, helping to correct behavioural problems which can prevent horses reaching their full potential.

Features:
- Functional carbohydrate from yeast cell and algae
- Binds wide range of mycotoxins
- Supports overall performance
- Effective at low inclusion rates
What is Mycosorb A+? Mycosorb A+ contains two main ingredients: a specific strain of yeast and algae meal. Mycotoxins are thought to bind to this strain of yeast, thus removing them from the horse’s digestive tract. The algae is also thought to target and absorb different types of toxins, removing a wider range of toxins when combined.
What is a Mycotoxin? Mycotoxins can be found in the fungi that grow on some grasses - mainly paspalum, rye, couch and some weeds and clover. More than 500 mycotoxins have been identified to date. They are more prevalent in hot and humid conditions (spring and summer) and can also be found in some commercial feeds and hays.
Signs of Mycotoxin poisoning: Symptoms can vary widely but may include:
- Itchy skin and/or hair loss
- Scabby sores
- Stiffness
- String halt/staggers
- Wasted topline
- Sunburnt nose
- Persistent cough
- Odd sweating
- Coarse, dull coat
- Persistent greasy heel/rain scald
- Unexplained spookiness and dangerous behaviour
Mycotoxin poisoning may also cause the following without any obvious signs:
- Depleted minerals in the body
- Decreased immune function
- Negative impact on the kidneys, liver and reproductive system
Severe cases can lead to death .
What is the difference between this product (Mycosorb A+) and Toxin Binder?
Stance Equitec's Toxin Binder has many ingredients, including a full dose of Alltech's Mycosorb A+. Toxin Binder is also formulated with Actigen - a yeast prebiotic for gut health, which is proven to bind to other bacteria in the digestive tract (like E Coli and Salmonella), PowerStance - powdered coconut oil for skin, coat and gut health and anti microbial benefits.

Biotin is a commonly used supplement that has shown potential in enhancing hoof growth and quality. Here are some steps you can take to help improve your horse's hoof health using Biotin Extra Strength:
- Choose a reputable Biotin supplement: Look for a Biotin supplement specifically formulated for horses. It should be of high quality, with a reliable source of Biotin and other essential nutrients for hoof health.
- Follow the recommended dosage: Read the instructions on the supplement packaging carefully and follow the recommended dosage. It's important not to exceed the recommended amount, as excessive Biotin intake may have adverse effects.
- Be consistent: Biotin is not a quick fix and requires consistent use over an extended period. It may take 8 to 15 months or longer before you start noticing improvements in your horse's hoof health. Stick to a regular schedule and provide the supplement consistently to give it the best chance to work effectively.
- Balanced diet: Alongside Biotin supplementation, ensure your horse is receiving a balanced diet. Proper nutrition is crucial for overall hoof health. Consult with a veterinarian or equine nutritionist to develop a diet plan that includes essential nutrients, such as biotin, amino acids, minerals (zinc, copper), and fatty acids (omega-3 and omega-6).
- Regular farrier visits: Hoof care should go hand in hand with Biotin supplementation. Regular visits from a professional farrier will help maintain proper hoof balance, trim excess growth, and address any specific concerns or issues your horse may have.
- Monitor progress: Keep track of your horse's hoof health over time. Take pictures or notes to document any changes or improvements you observe. This will help you evaluate the effectiveness of the Biotin supplement and make any necessary adjustments to the care regimen. Remember, while Biotin can be beneficial for hoof health, it is not a cure-all solution. Proper overall care, including a balanced diet, regular hoof maintenance, and a healthy living environment, all contribute to your horse's hoof health and well-being.

Actions:
VITAMIN B1 INJECTION provides the essential vitamin Thiamine.
How Does It Work?
Thiamine (Vitamin B1) plays an important role in the metabolism of carbohydrates and energy production for all cells. Thiamine is most important in the breakdown of pyruvic acid a waste product in hard working muscles along with lactic acid. In any situation where carbohydrates are the major energy source or when glucose is added to the diet thiamine requirement is increased significantly.
Thiamine is essential as part of the coenzyme which is involved in the breakdown of glucose for energy.
Thiamine in conjunction with Vitamin B6 (Pyridoxine) is essential in the metabolism of proteins and amino acids. Thiamine has effects on all tissues. The most sensitive are nerves stomach and heart.
Free Thiamine cannot be stored in the body and it is rapidly absorbed from the intestine or blood as well as from injection sites. Like all B Complex vitamins Thiamine is water soluble so it is rapidly absorbed and excreted from the body and requires regular supplementation especially in hard working animals when dietary input will probably not be sufficient.
Thiamine is found in both meat and cereal products. Small amounts are manufactured in the gut as long as horses are not under stress.
Thiamine in food is destroyed by cooking. Beef loses up to 75% of its Thiamine when cooked.
High doses of Thiamine are reported to help calm nervous or over excitable horses.
Clinical signs of Thiamine deficiency include fatigue muscle weakness loss of appetite and increased heart rate. (This may be an important factor in endurance horses fed high grain diets).
Many of these signs can be traced back to increased tissue levels of lactic and pyruvic acids. Nerve cells are particularly dependant on carbohydrate metabolismand normal nerve function is greatly effected by increased levels of these acids during hard work.
Indications:
None
Dosage and Adminstrations:
Give 5 - 10mL by intramuscular injection regularly twice weekly or as advised by a veterinary surgeon.
Pack Size:
100mL sterile injection for intramuscular or intravenous injection.

Kohnke's Own TRIM is a magnesium, organic chromium and choline supplement for horses.
TRIM provides a range of important nutrients to correct low or inadequate levels in the rations of horses and ponies on weight reducing, low calorie diets. It can also be used to supplement prepared commercial low GI diets where the full recommended feeding rate is not fed and other high fibre feeds and soaked hay are added to increase the bulk of feed.
TRIM is formulated to provide specific nutritional support to horses and ponies which are overweight and obese and which have hard 'cresty' necks and abnormal fat deposits behind the shoulders and tail butt area. These signs are associated with conditions such as Equine Metabolic Syndrome (EMS) and Insulin Resistance as a result of grazing pastures and the long term feeding of sweetened or processed feeds which contain high levels of starch and soluble nonstructural carbohydrate (NSC) 'sugars'.
TRIM provides Magnesium to support metabolic function and glucose utilisation in body cells where diets are low in magnesium as well as Organic chromium which has a role in the regulation of glucose metabolism. (Chromium is known as the 'Glucose Tolerance Factor' in relation to insulin response) TRIM also contains Choline and manganese which have a role in the metabolism of fats.
TRIM also contains a range of other selected vitamins which have a role in glucose metabolism.
TRIM contains Vitamin C which is involved in the natural body synthesis of carnitine which has a role in the metabolism and breakdown of fats in the body, as well as to supplement Vitamin C as an antioxidant in tissues where natural liver synthesis from glucose may not be as efficient on a low GI diet.

What is BetaCALM Paste?
BetaCALM Paste is a fast acting, effective and convenient supplement specially formulated for nervous, hot or stressed horses. Each BetaCALM Paste contains a unique formulation containing the optimal level of Tryptophan plus four herbal ingredients to enhance the calming effect.
For longer term calming use BetaCALM Powder.
How does BetaCALM work?
BetaCALM Paste is a combination of natural herbs and the optimal level of L-Tryptophan, which can be used to create a calming effect in horses that are nervous, excited or stressed.
- Tryptophan: An essential amino acid that stabilises the horse’s mood for a less excitable temperament. Tryptophan is not produced naturally by the horse and beneficial levels are not provided in feed. Tryptophan is converted in the body to serotonin, which helps to induce a feeling of calmness.
- Black Cohosh: A herbal extract commonly associated with mild relaxation in periods of stress or anxiety.
- Passion Flower: A herbal extract that supports a calm and relaxed disposition.
- Hops: This herbal extract contains several nutrients including volatile oils, tannins, flavonoids, organic acids, vitamins, minerals and trace elements. Often recommended as a tool against anxiety and stress, hops has a calming effect.
- Ginger Root: Is believed to aid in the availability of dietary nutrients for digestion and metabolism and to facilitate the utilisation of available energy resources, thus soothing the horse.
Remember, there are many factors that can cause undesirable behaviour in horses including diet, age, training, housing, pain and digestive conditions. It is best to discuss your horse’s diet and history to determine whether changes in feeding and management of practices are also required to reduce anxious behaviour. To help manage nervous horses, try providing constant access to forage, small meals and reduce starch/sugar in the diet. Also, decreasing stable time and providing equine company is very beneficial for mental health.
Long term behaviour problems are frequently associated with digestive conditions. In this case, use Kelato’s GastroAID Recovery.
- BetaCALM Paste is designed to be mixed in the horse’s feed.
- Dial the syringe to provide a 10mL per 500kg horse.
- Give 1 hour prior to a stressful event.
Sizes

Kohnke’s Own FABBY is a multi-action digestive supplement for horses.
Kohnke’s Own FABBY is formulated using the latest scientific knowledge in probiotic and prebiotic research to help optimise the digestive efficiency of the hindgut (large intestine) in all horses. The highly concentrated probiotics, multiple premium prebiotics and other hindgut activating nutrients comprise a unique and powerful formulation that is suitable for horses of all ages and dietary intakes.
The Premium Probiotic and Prebiotic Supplement with Hindgut Activators
FABBY is an acronym for the many benefical active ingredients which naturally help your horse’s gut microbiota!
Features specific nutrients with dietary roles in:
- Functional fibres for hindgut activation
- Active yeast components to foster growth of good bacteia
- Beneficial prebiotics to help conversion of feed to energy
- Broad spectrum mycotoxin binders to help minimize digestive issues
- Yeasts & other live probiotics to help balance hindgut populations
Probiotics:
The probiotics in FABBY include highly researched and equine-targeted live yeasts plus bacteria including Lactobacillus and Bifidobacterium strains. These probiotics are highly concentrated (18 Billion CFU per maintenance dose) and actively reduce hindgut acidosis without artificial buffers. Acid imbalance in the hindgut can cause serious problems, including acidic build up, hindgut ulcers or ‘cow-pat’ manure. FABBY protects against negative effects of hindgut starch overload in horses consuming high starch diets. The live yeasts in FABBY are also proven to boost digestion of fibre sources for improved condition in ‘hard keeper’ or ‘poor-doer’ horses.
Prebiotics:
FABBY includes multiple prebiotics to help feed ‘good bacteria’ populations to positively influence the hindgut microbiota. These prebiotics have been proven to help adapt to new diets, especially after sudden feed changes and improve conversion of feed to energy in horses with inefficient digestive function.
Active Yeast Components:
Active Yeast Components are specially purified parts of the yeast cell, including MOS (mannan oligosaccharides), B-glucans and nucleotides which are designed to block attachment of infectious ‘bad’ bacteria and the action of pathogens in the hindgut. The purified nucleotides in FABBY benefit digestive function and regenerate the gastro-intestinal lining. The combination of these Active Yeast Components may reduce scouring or loose manure in horses with poor hindgut microbiota balance.
Functional Fibres:
The functional fibres in FABBY are a special blend of digestible and indigestible fibres which are designed to stimulate important areas of the gastro-intestinal tract for improved function, helping to regulate food passage through the digestive system. Optimising the working of the hindgut is an important process in healthy manure production and general good digestion.
Mycotoxin Binders:
The mycotoxin binders in FABBY constitute a broad-spectrum approach using multiple types to counter a wider range of mycotoxins, but are specially selected to not absorb or bind other feed nutrients, such as vitamins. FABBY is formulated to help horses exposed to feed ingested mycotoxins (up to a moderate level) and reduce risk of digestive upsets or problems in horses with feed sensitivities.
Specific Amino Acids including L-Glutamine:
Specific amino acids such as L-glutamine are particularly included as it helps to regulate passage of manure through the gastro-intestinal tract and also feeds the cells lining the digestive system with energy to optimise digestive activity and maintain normal barrier function. The combination of ingredients in FABBY are uniquely designed to help the entire hindgut and its contents.
Proven Results from Extensive Research:
FABBY has been research tested for over 3 years in field trials with over 100 Aussie horses. Mitachondral Injection for Horses & Dogs
Mitachondral Injection is a specialised amino acid supplement formulated to support muscle function, endurance and recovery in horses and dogs. Combining high-strength L-Carnitine with the essential amino acids Phenylalanine and Isoleucine, Mitachondral is designed to help support energy production, delay muscle fatigue and assist animals during periods of intense exercise and performance.
Key Benefits
- Supports muscle endurance and exercise performance.
- Helps delay the onset of muscle fatigue.
- Assists in reducing lactic acid accumulation during strenuous activity.
- Supports healthy muscle metabolism and energy production.
- Provides amino acids involved in the body's natural response to exercise-related discomfort.
- Suitable for horses and dogs.
How Mitachondral Works
L-Carnitine is essential for normal heart and skeletal muscle function. It plays a vital role in energy production by transporting fatty acids into muscle cells where they can be converted into energy. During hard exercise, L-Carnitine levels may become depleted, making supplementation beneficial for animals involved in training, competition or other strenuous activities.
L-Carnitine also helps support normal muscle metabolism during exercise and may assist in delaying fatigue associated with intense muscular activity.
D-Phenylalanine and L-Isoleucine are essential amino acids that support the body's natural physiological response to exercise. These amino acids complement the action of L-Carnitine and provide additional nutritional support for performance animals.
Composition
| L-Carnitine | 200 mg/mL |
| D-Phenylalanine | 4 mg/mL |
| L-Isoleucine | 5.33 mg/mL |
Indications
L-Carnitine and amino acid supplement for horses and dogs.

Why is Salkavite so effective?
The important difference between Ranvet's Salkavite and other electrolyte mixes is the very high content of B Group vitamins. Salkavite has been specifically formulated for horses being fed high grain diets and subjected to extreme physical stress.
The cereal grains fed to horses in work provide their major source of energy. For maximum release of this energy, a supplementary intake of B Group vitamins is essential, and this is what Ranvet's Salkavite provides.

TRIPART is a blend of essential co-factors to ensure that muscle metabolism is optimised, and that energy supply to muscles is adequate, to reduce the risk of lactic acidosis, muscle fatigue and Tying Up. Provision of essential co-factors and nutrients at the correct time, and in the correct amounts, reduces the risk of muscle damage and decreased performance.
How Does It Work?
ATP is the essential chemical for muscle contraction, releasing energy when it is broken down to ADP. The aspartates improve endurance by decreasing blood lactate and ammonia, thus delaying fatigue.
Vitamin B3 is essential in increasing the use of glycogen for energy, and arginine acts as a vehicle for transport, storage and excretion of nitrogen.
Lysine is very important in muscle repair. Selenium is an essential element of the enzyme which helps remove the free radicals produced during severe exercise. Vitamin B12 is essential for red blood cell turnover.
Key Features & Benefits:
- TRIPART paste supplements ATP to improve available energy supply to muscles.
- TRIPART assists muscle repair and recovery after exercise.
- TRIPART reduces the risk of tying up or cramping.
