Cage muzzle

After much struggling, my hubby got the muzzle on our very energetic blue cattle girl. She’s not a fan but we need the muzzle so she can go to the vet and get her yearly vacc. Last time she bit my hubby when the vet jabbed her.

Very disappointed with this product. Not very sturdy. Our dog completely wrecked it the first time we put it on him. We chose to buy a metal one thinking it would be strong (we have one from YEARS ago but the straps are all broken) This one only lasted about 2 minutes. Just another example of "they don't make things like they used to."

Newmarket Muzzle (Australian Cattle Dog Muzzle)

purchased this muzzle for a female blue cattle dog. It fitted pretty well, however I had to put a couple more holes in the side straps to help fit it better, which worked, but I think the manufacturer should actually get the proper measurements of these dog to make sure they fit all blue and red heelers. The cage could be stronger. My bluey bent the first muzzle however, second time round she's adapted to it and it works. I would recommend it to other owners as it is a good product.

I purchased this muzzle for a female red heeler and it was too big for her. Maybe it has been made for male cattle dogs with the much boofier head than a female. Very disappointed it didn't fit but was very impressed as to the muzzle's quality.

I have a 20wk old cattle x pup who loves eating cat poo. As I live on a large block it is impossible to find where stray cats have left poo overnight & dispose of it. She gets diarrhoea for 2 or 3 days after eating it....I am currently keeping her on a long rope when she goes outside so she can't look for poo but I can't do this forever. Am looking for a muzzle that will allow plenty of airflow but will stop her from eating poo, dead birds, dead frogs etc. Any suggestions?

Hi Julie

Thank you for your question.
Dogs are so gross sometimes lol.
I think one of the plastic lighter muzzles may be more comfortable for you dog to wear than the Newarket Muzzle.
The Comfort dog muzzle is good cheap light one.

The Baskerville muzzle may be a bit hardier and fit more securely.

With the diarrhoea you could try feeding her a probiotic just to help her gut health for when she eats the not so nice things.
The digesticare is a good one

I hope that helps

Cheers
