Equest Plus Tape wormer for horses controls tapeworm in addition to all the other major gastrointestinal worms and bots.
Equest Plus Tape is the only horse wormer that is long acting: re-treatment is recommended after 14-16 weeks compared to after 6-8 weeks with other wormers. This means fewer treatments per year and twice the time that pastures are left free of worm eggs.
Equest Plus Tape is also the only horse wormer to have a registered claim to control encysted small strongyles in a single dose. Small strongyle worms hibernate or encyst in the lining of the horses gut and can cause colic. While other horse wormers kill the small strongyle worms that are in the gut itself, Equest Plus Tape is the only wormer with a registered claim to also kill the encysted forms. This means that the life cycle is blocked at a much earlier stage and that no small strongyle worms can re-emerge and mature in the horses gut straight after worming.
Equest Plus Tape is a unique gel formulation that dissolves rapidly on the tongue. The dial up syringe is designed with a narrow barrel to allow easy access into the side of the horses mouth and deliver the right dose every time.
Equest Plus Tape is safe for pregnant mares and breeding stallions as well as foal over 4 weeks of age.
Active Constituents: Moxidectin 20mg/ml, Praziquantel 125mg/mL.
Contents: 14.4g net (Sufficient to treat a horse of 700kg)
Broad Spectrum:
Equest Plus Tape long acting horse wormer and boticide gel is the only horse wormer to control tapeworm and all important gastrointestinal roundworms, including adult and encysted stages (DL, LL3, EL4) and benzimidazole resistant strains of small strongyles, and aids in control of early encysted stages (EL3), including inhibited larvae (greater than 90% effective). Protects for 14 -16 weeks.
Parasite Control Programs:
All horses should have a regular parasite control program. Regular treatment will reduce the risk of diseases due to small and large strongyles such as colic and verminous arteritis. Reinfection of horses with worms is common and treatment must be repeated routinely to ensure effective control. The unique long term activity of Equest Plus Tape long acting horse wormer & boticide gel against worms, including encysted small strongyles, is particularly useful in reducing the required dosing frequency in strategic parasite control programs. Retreatment intervals for the control of small strongyles can be extended for 14 to 16 weeks. Consult your veterinarian for advice on faecal egg count interpretation and the appropriate program for your specific needs.
Indications:
Equest Plus Tape contains the active ingredient moxidectin, a second generation macrocyclic lactone, and praziquantel, a synthetic isoquinoline-pyrazine derivative. Equest Plus Tape is palatable and effective for the treatment and control of:
- Tapeworm: Anoplocephala perfoliata and Paranoplocephala mamillana.
- Large Strongyles: Strongylus vulgaris (adults, L3 and L4 arterial stages), Strongylus edentatus (adults and L4 visceral larval stages), Strongylus equinus (adults), Tridontophorus spp. (adults) including T. brevicauda, T. serratus and T. tenuicollis, Craterostomum acuticaudatum (adults).
- Small Strongyles (adults): Cyathostomum spp. including C. catinatum and C. pateratum, Cylicostephanus spp. including C. calicatus, C. goldi, C. longibursatus and C. minutus, Cylicocyclus spp. including C. brevicapsulatus, C. elongatus, C. insigne, C. leptostomum, C. nassatus, C. radiatus, C. ashworthi and C. ultrajectinus, Cylicodontophorus bicoronatus, Coronocyclus spp. including C. coronatus, C. labiatus and C. labratus, Gyalocephalus capitatus, Parapoteriostomum mettami, Peterovinema poculatus, Poteriostomum imparidentatum, as well as benzimidazole resistant strains. Equest Plus Tape long acting horse wormer and boticide gel is the only horse wormer effective as a single dose against encysted stages of small strongyles: developing stages (DL), late encysted stages (LL3/EL4), and aids in control of early encysted stages (EL3) including inhibited larvae (greater than 90% effective).
- Pinworms: Oxyurus equi (adults and L3/L4 larval stages)
- Ascarids: Parascaris equorum (adults and intestinal stages (L4))
- Hairworms: Trichostrongylus axei (adults)
- Intestinal Threadworms: Strongyloides westeri
- Large Mouthed Stomach Worms: Habronema spp. (gastric and cutaneous (summer sore) forms)
- Stomach Bots: Gasterophilus intestinalis (2 & 3 stage larvae), Gasterophilus nasalis (2 & 3 stage larvae)
- Cutaneous Onchocerciasis: Onchocerca spp. (microfiliariae)
Egg Reappearance Period (ERP) for Equest Plus tape long acting horse wormer and boticide gel is at least 14 weeks, which means that recontamination of the pasture by strongyle eggs is significantly reduced during this period.

Livamol with BioWorma is a nutritional supplement containing the natural biological control, BioWorma, that captures and consumes infective worm larvae (including chemical resistant/anthelmintic multi-resistant larvae) within the manure of grazing animals.
DIRECTIONS FOR USE
Dosage and Administration: Dose Livamol with BioWorma according to bodyweight.
1. For best results, treat animals with a suitable chemical wormer/anthelmintic.
2. Ideally, where possible, move the treated animals onto low worm pasture (that is, pasture that has not been grazed by the same animal species for a minimum 6 weeks).
3. The most worm susceptible are young animals (from 3 months up to 18-24 months of age) and periparturient females (last month of pregnancy and while producing milk) as they are the most likely to have less resistance to worm infestation due to low immunity. Pasture contamination by adult stock, even with low faecal egg counts (FEC), should not be underestimated considering the volume of faecal material they place on pasture.
4. Commence daily feeding of Livamol with BioWorma to minimise pasture infectivity and maintain the animalÍs low worm status. The product will not reduce pre-existing larval pasture contamination. Thoroughly mix Livamol with BioWorma with feed or feed supplements.
5. Livamol with BioWorma will begin to work immediately within the manure of treated animals, and for best results may be fed continuously when climatic conditions are conducive to BioWorma and parasitic nematode activity.
6. Livamol with BioWorma is recommended for strategic use during periods when weather conditions are conducive to larval development and transmission onto pasture at temperatures above 5 degrees Celsius.
7. Use in conjunction with a recommended worm management strategy for your area by contacting your Veterinarian, Animal Health Advisor or Government Advisory groups for a strategic Integrated Parasite Management (IPM) plan. It is important to consider the principles of refugia.
8. Faecal egg counts (FECs) may be useful to monitor the effectiveness of the worm management strategy. Other options may include faecal egg count reduction test (FECRT) and/or identifying worm species by using faecal larval cultures (FLC).
For oral administration. The required amount of BioWorma should be thoroughly mixed into feed, supplements, premixes, concentrates or loose mixes.

Equimax Elevation offers 3 way action for complete protection. There is no horse wormer on the market quite like Equimax Elevation. A unique formulation of three active ingredients designed to combat mectin resistance, Equimax Elevation is particularly suitable for worming young horses from 6 weeks to 24 months.
That's because young horses need special protection from potentially mectin resistant ascarids, a problem worm in horses under two years old. Ascarids can build up to life threatening numbers in a short time, causing severe blockages in a young horses comparatively smaller intestinal tract or permanently damaging their developing lungs. Equimax Elevation completely protects young horses from ascarids, as well as all other worms.

Insert the syringe into the side of as horse’s mouth in the gap between the front and back teeth. Advance the plunger as far as it will go depositing the paste on the rear of the tongue. Immediately raise the horse’s head for few seconds after dosing to ensure the full dose has been swallowed.
Use at the correct weight-based dose. There is no blanket ‘use every X weeks’ rule printed on the label – instead iMEC should be used as part of a monitored parasite-control plan. For many adult horses with good pasture management, one treatment in spring and one in late summer/early autumn will suffice, provided a broad-spectrum product (with tapeworm activity) is used. Horses at higher risk should be assessed by your equine veterinarian, and faecal egg-counts and management factors considered, before deciding on additional treatments
Product Advantages:
• Broad Spectrum: iMEC with TAPE kills all the important internal parasites of horses, including the arterial stages of S.vulgaris and bots with a single, low volume, easy to administer dose. Because reinfection is common, treatment must be repeated routinely for effective control.
• Safety to Horses: Ivermectin and Praziquantel have wide safety margin at recommended dose level. They may be used in horses of all ages. Mares may be treated at any stage of pregnancy. Stallions may be treated without adversely affecting their fertility.

Administering tubes of paste to horses can be a problem. The Worming Bit is an ideal solution.
The required worming paste, mineral supplement or other tube-based remedy is firstly fitted into the plastic bit. The bit is then slipped into the horse’s mouth, and the strap placed over the ears where it is pulled up firm. The tube content can then be expelled in a controlled and convenient manner.
The paste or remedy is placed correctly on the back of the horse’s tongue where it can not be expelled.
The Worming Bit has a familiar feel for the horse, thus calming the animal.
Accepts all sizes of paste syringes.
Every stable should have one of these handy!!!$329.95

Worming your horse
What wormer should I use for my horse?
Choosing a wormer for your horse will depend on what worms you are trying to treat. There are over 20 different intestinal worms that can be found in horses, the most common worms of concern for the horse population today are, Large Strongyles, Small Strongyles, Roundworms and Tapeworms. You can then choose a wormer that contains the appropriate active ingredients to that treat the worms of concern.
What are the active ingredients in horse wormers?
Horse Wormers will consist of one, or a combination of four different active ingredients (chemicals). The four main chemical groups that are used to treat worms in horses are;
- Macrocyclic lactones (mectin based) – broad spectrum protection (not tapeworms)
- Benzimidazoles – generally used for rotation worming
- Praziquantel – specifically for tapeworm control
- Tetrahydropyrimides – narrow spectrum wormer
What is Rotational Worming in horses?
Wormer rotation refers to periodically changing the horse wormer you are using to worm your horse. But it is not about changing the wormer brand but more specifically you must change the active ingredient that you are worming with. The reason you should rotate wormers is because some intestinal worms can build up a resistance to the active ingredient in wormers and therefore their effectiveness can be significantly diminished or become completely ineffective. Popular rotational wormers in Australia include Strategy-T and AMMO Rotational Wormer Paste (Green).
How often should I worm my horse?
Follow the recommendations on the horse wormer you are using to see when you will need to worm your horse again. Some products have intervals of 6 weeks while others are longer lasting with up to 16 weeks between treatments, like Equest Plus Tape.
